Proposal Type: Bylaw Revision
Opened: 27-Dec-2000 1:00AM EST
Closing: 27-Dec-2000 1:00AM EST
I propose that the bylaw that covers multiple characters be changedback to its earlier wording. The suggested wording replacing the word
"genre" with the word "game". This limited players to one character per
game.
Note: Some feel that paragraph b of this bylaw is broken, and thus Michael
Riedlinger has
proposed, and a few have seconded, completely revoking paragraph b.

New York City, NY - USA, Kings of New York | Change | I agree completely with ''Always Comes Evening's'' statement. |

Tampa, FL - USA, Tampa Bay by Night | Revoke | |
San Francisco, CA - USA, Always Comes Evening | Change | The proper course would be to amend the bylaw to reflect an accuratelyworded rule. To repeal (revoke) means 100% reversion of the Council's policy on the matter, i.e., Council essentially washes its hands entirely and we all return to Square One. Is that truly the desired result of this vote? Judging from the tenor the discussion surrounding this issue, revocation would not bring about the resolution we seek. |
Cincinnati, OH - USA, Shadows of Cincinnati | Revoke | If a rule is already broken, it is better to create a new unbroken rule, than try and quick fix the problem. |
Springfield, IL - USA, Capitol City Cauldron | Change | lets get something here than conveys what we're all thinking |
Washington, DC - USA, Shadows on the Mall | Change | One player, one character, baby. I've seen this situation abused too manytimes to put that level of trust back into the mix. |
Kenosha, WI - USA, Memento Mori | Revoke | We can trust each other. |
Gimli, MB - Canada, Sang Nordique | Revoke | Peer pressure. |
Northern Virginia, VA - USA, Night Falls | Revoke | Pull it. If things get bad about this, we can always reintroduce a bettermeasure |
Edwardsville, IL - USA, Caught in Eternal Twilight | Revoke | ST's need to police themselves, if there is a problem, clean it up.We don't need more beaurocracy to make up for what is a basic ST duty. |
AHC 1 | Revoke | This bylaw is indeed broken, and does not convey what Council intended. |
Chronicle/Position Unknown | Revoke | We need to find ways to reduce the amount of bureacracy within ourorganization, while still maintaining our cohesive qualities. By relying on our ST's to mitigate this sort of issue, we begin to return faith and trust. |

Chronicle/Position Unknown | Revoke | As long as the home chronicles of said player stay in contact, thingsshould be okay. |

Chronicle/Position Unknown | Change | In Arizona, people have a character for every game. They had one for mygame, and for Phoenix's game, and for Tuscon's game. I think that the wording needs to be changed, but that the bylaw remains in effect. As ST's we can only have our eyes and ears in so many places at once. |

Chronicle/Position Unknown | Revoke | It would be nice to have a little more official flexibility in what peoplecan play. I can imagine this bringing some benefits to my chronicle. I also think we should come down like a ton of bricks on any abuses of this freedom, but bridges, crossing, all that. |

Chronicle/Position Unknown | Revoke | I've gone into my reasons a dozen times on the council list...but sufficeit to say, it had good intentions, but in practice didn't quite work. Kinda like Communism, in a good way. |

Chronicle/Position Unknown | Revoke | I saw no need for this Bylaw in the first place. Any abuse of multiplecharacters should go through everyone's [posted :)] disciplinary procedure. |
