Custom Sabbat Ritae
Some chronicles allow for their players to develop customized powers for their characters. The following is a compilation of player created custom content in OWBN. At this time, custom content that is created and/or used by vampire PC's is required to be listed.
Modeled after ancient Aztec warrior trials, this ritae is a test of strength, cunning, and survival. The participants—often new recruits or warriors proving their worth—are released into the streets of Mexico City, given only their claws, fangs, and instinct.
A chosen mortal, ghoul, or enemy vampire is marked as the prey. The hunters must track them through the city, avoiding mortal hunters, rival sects, and their own weaknesses. The one who claims the kill is rewarded, while the weak are left in disgrace.
The hunt ends when the prey is brought before the Sabbat—either as a trophy or as a blood offering to Caine.
System: The hunters must track a marked prey (mortal, ghoul, or enemy Kindred) through the streets of Mexico City. They engage in a Stealth vs. Awareness Challenge against any would-be interferers (such as mortal police or Camarilla spies).
If the final blow is delivered in single combat, the hunter absorbs the prey’s strength, gaining +1 Bonus Physical Trait for the next three rounds of combat.
If the kill is witnessed by another Sabbat member, the victor may call a free retest on their next Brawl or Melee challenge before sunrise, as the pack acknowledges their prowess.
However, if the hunt fails (the prey escapes or a non-Sabbat delivers the kill), the entire hunting party suffers a -1 Trait penalty on all combat challenges until they redeem themselves in the eyes of the sect.
