Custom Combination Discipline / Technique
Some chronicles allow for their players to develop customized powers for their characters. The following is a compilation of player created custom content in OWBN. At this time, custom content that is created and/or used by vampire PC's is required to be listed.
Discipline Name | Discipline Level |
---|---|
Blood Shintai | 5 |
Bone Shintai | 3 |
Demon Shintai | 1 |
Unleashing the Scarlet Dragon of Blood And Bone
Blood Shintai 5, Bone Shintai 3, Cultivation 2, Demon Shintai 1
Cost: 13xp
Building upon the core principles of Blood Shintai, the Kuei-jin reaches across the battlefield, drawing forth the blood of dozens of enemies at a time and slaying them where they stand. As an action, she spends a variable amount of Yang Chi, subject to the normal limits of her Dharma. Each Chi spent has one of the following effects, depending on the circumstances:
Under the Dark Colony Mass Battle rules (or something similar) each point of Chi spent adds +1 to the total Casualties suffered by the enemy Army at the conclusion of a Battle Round.
Each point of Chi Spent may destroy up to five levels of the following Backgrounds: Cult, Kinfolk, Retainers, or Thralls.
Each point of Chi Spent may destroy one level of the Military Force Background
Each point of Chi Spent may destroy up to 10 nameless enemy hordes, subject to ST discretion
The blood, bone and viscera drawn forth does not simply lie inert, however; the Kuei-jin uses the raw materials to create a temporary home for her Po, sending it forth to wreak havoc among her enemies as a terrifying dragon formed from the remains of her slain enemies.
Once at least three Yang Chi have been spent using Unleashing the Scarlet Dragon of Blood and Bone, the dragon forms at the end of the round. The Dragon has the following capabilities:
Two Physical Traits and One Health Level per Yang Chi spent, as per Blood Awakening. This is cumulative, and may increase as this Discipline Technique continues to be used over successive rounds.
All mechanical benefits of the Kuei-jin’s Demon Shintai form, including extra Physical Traits. Features not consistent with the form of a dragon (Demon Weapon, for instance) will change aesthetically to a fitting form, such as claws or teeth, but provide the same mechanical benefit as normal.
The Po, while inhabiting this body, will tend to defend the Kuei-jin in a general sense - after all, if the Kuei-jin dies to their mutual enemies, they both perish - but otherwise acts according to the Po’s nature, unless commanded with a challenge of Hun vs Po. At the end of the scene, the Po returns to the body violently, provoking an immediate check for Shadow Soul.
