MET Mechanics:

Create a charm specific for the Thaumaturgy path you wish to utilize. The Thaumaturge performs this ritual at the height of the full moon, the charm must absorb five traits of the casters blood, which are consumed by the charm during the ritual. Once successfully made, this charm allows you to pierce the layers of reality when you cast your summons.

Activating the charm allows the caster's next summoned entity to form in any plane the caster can see; upon successful summoning, the charm shatters and becomes unusable.

If Summoned into a realm in which the summoned creature naturally exists (e.g. an elemental summoned in the umbra) the Thaumaturge augments the summoned creature by giving it a bonus to its health and traits equal to your level of occult ability (max 5), and a DR/1.

If summoned to a realm it is not meant to be in (e.g. an elemental summoned in the shadowlands) the function of the ritual shifts. These summons are short lived as they are not meant to exist in hostile planes, but will function as normal for one full round per level of occult ability (max 5). During that time they will still be able to understand and follow the summoner's commands as normal, until the ritual's duration ends. At which point they will be forced out of the plane or destroyed at storytellers discretion.

Using a charm requires possession of this ritual, and a max of five charms may be used per game by the user.
