Ritual Name: Candle of Naming (Advanced)

 

The Faithful among the Followers of Set are masters of subtle manipulation.  Through simple conversation and clever applications of Presence, they can learn the deepest secrets of a potential convert.  This ritual is for when the Setite needs just a little more than dirt on someone...

 

System:

The caster engraves the likeness of an individual onto a tray made of fine gold.  This process requires a crafts check  with a difficulty equal to the social traits of the target and usually takes several hours.  He then pours a mixture of wax, honey, ash, herbs, and blood over the tray and leaves it to emulsify and solidify overnight.  After sitting for at least twelve hours, the caster then chants over the tray and peels back the newly formed wax.

 

When removed, the image will be gone (succeed or fail) as the magic of the ritual consumes it to more deeply know the subject.  The wax is then molded into a candle.  If the ritual was successful, when the candle is burned as an additional component for any other use of Ahku, it counts as a sympathetic link to the target in question.  If the ritual was a failure, the other ritual will certainly fail as well.  The caster has no way of knowing if the ritual was successful or not until he attempts to use the item.
