Custom Blood Magic: Ritual
Some chronicles allow for their players to develop customized powers for their characters. The following is a compilation of player created custom content in OWBN. At this time, custom content that is created and/or used by vampire PC's is required to be listed.

Cost: 1 Blood
Duration: Until Destination is Reached, or ritual is canceled
Prerequisites: Ritual: Charon’s Eyes
Difficulty: Static: Determined by ST at time of Casting - depending on target.
Notes: This Ritual may be cast in any Realm (or Sub Realm there-in) .
Effect: by declaring a location, the lantern will take you to it. It may not give you the safest directions - but they will be the most direct. If your destination is not in the realm you are currently in, it will take you to the point in your realm which your destination crosses over, if possible/applicable. This ritual is comparable to “Knowing Stone” but instead of a Person, the target is a location.
Memories are a powerful thing, as any Hougan or Wraith will tell you. Stories long since past still burn with fire in the minds of those who know them; and light a passion in those they tell. Charon was arguably one of the most renown and powerful Wraiths to ever exist. Daring to do anything; and most things others outright refuse speak about let alone actually do.
The Loa, are eternal and have seen the world come and go; and hold memories of the world over; Charon’s ancestors & descendants notwithstanding. Unlike Charon who braved the unknown void where no else would travel - the Road has been paved for the select few Hougan who may call upon the stories of times past. Having a direct line to the Loa helps, not like Charon is around ask, or give you personal directions.
Samedi having a unique connection with the Loa, as their essence flows through their very veins. With a few small prayers and chants; they may expose their blood asking for the guidance they may need at that time; through that connection.
Opening their wrist, blood freely flows, drys, and continues to flow (1 point worth), until it has dried into a old hand held exposed lantern. (without flame shield or glass ) Which takes on a scale of red that is dark, even by dried blood’s standards. This lantern is marked with Papa Ghede’s Veve From within a small red flame comes to life. As the Hougan approaches their desired destination; the flame grows in size and intensity. The apex of which, when the destination is reached, the flame consumes the blood/lantern and it vanishes as offering to the Loa. This lantern does nothing to provide the safest route, merely the most direct, nor may it be used as a weapon.

- Direction to the nearest port of the River of Death
- Direction to the nearest byway which leads to the Dark Kingdom of …
- Direction to the nearest byway which leads to the Sea Which Knows No Sun
- Direction to the nearest Byway which leads to Swar
- Direction to the nearest byway which leads to the Mirrorlands
- Where is the nearest Nihil
- Where is the nearest Gateway
- Where is the nearest Ferryman’s Dock (typically alerts them that someone’s looking for them, and they may find you long before you find them)
