We are seeking candidates a regional communications team. Members of this team will be responsible for the following:

  • Working with the Executive team and various coordinator offices to push org-wide communications to a regional/local level. Examples of this would be informing players/volunteers about new website features, marketing materials, upcoming event games, drafts of potential bylaw changes, etc.

  • Gathering feedback on a local/regional level when it comes to OWBN-wide issues. While I plan on having online polls/surveys on different topics, I also want to have point-people at a regional level that players can turn to in order to share ideas and concerns.

  • Assisting the Executive team in compiling participant feedback into documents that can be shared with OWBN participants as well as actionable proposals that can be brought forth to Council.  Examples of this would be bylaw revisions or scenarios of how to potentially integrate the By Night Studios material into OWBN.

This is a pilot program.  Should this be successful during the coming year, we will explore whether to spin this off to become an appointed/elected coordinator position(s).

Here are the qualifications that we are looking for:

  • 48 hour turn-around time on emails (24 hours or less is preferred, but we also realize that we have real lives and this is a voluntary position)
  • Experience with using Google Docs or similar collaborative document creation tools
  • Mediation / emotional buffering skills - some participants can be very blunt and/or passionate when sharing their opinions. It will be up to you to ask additional questions and probe for details that can reasonably be acted upon.
  • Experience with “getting s*** done” while navigating organizational politics - whether it’s within OWBN or another large non-profit/corporate setting
  • 5-10 hours a week available for volunteering - this will vary based on how quickly you can read/process/respond to emails and review documents.
  • Actively involved and respected in your region

Given the importance of this role, candidates may be interviewed by the Executive team. In addition, we are asking candidates to provide a list of 5 chronicles in their region who support them. There is a high likelihood that we will contact the ST team / CM of these chronicles for additional information.
