I move that we give the Executive Team the authority to register One World by Night as a Non-Profit Organization, and grant them the ability to utilize OWbN funds for any fees relating to registering as such. Upon completion, a full report explaining how/where we are set up as an NPO and delineating any monies spent must be submitted to Council. Should this require changes to the bylaws, the Executive Team will make the necessary proposals upon completion of registration.
Reasoning: A Legal Issue. Should we currently be sued by CCP (Or anyone else), the elected officials of the Organization are responsible. By becoming a Not for Profit, the organization would then act as a shield against personal lawsuits brought against us for copyright infringement.

New York City, NY - USA, Kings of New York | Against | After speaking with my players they have deep concern in regards to having transperancy and a plan of action in regards to this. As is they wish for me to vote against this until such time as a proposal is brought to council that lays out all plans, problems, risks, amd changes that will occur. This will change the org as we know it forever from what we have. This is a major choice that should NOT be entered into lightly. As such, per my players wishes not vote for this as is. |

Tampa, FL - USA, Tampa Bay by Night | For | If money, IP, or tangible assets are tied to our organization, we should be protected as a Corporation. This is simple business. |
Philadelphia, PA - USA, Honor in the Shadows | Against | There are too many variables that have not been addressed, in addition to that the lawyer I talked to about this recommended against this until we have a full review of what is involved and the possible ramifications. Our vote will be no until we get a full rundown of the new charter and changes that need to be made to fully implement such a change. |

Duluth, MN - USA, Thicker than Blood | For | Thicker than Blood recognizes that this vote effectively washes Council's hands of the registration process and frees the Executive Team to take steps necessary to accomplish this task. This should have been done a year ago, but what changes are wrought over the course off a year. |

Indianapolis, IN - USA, Stars Never Rise | Against | We are absolutely for the NFP status, but until we see what the total package is - we must vote No. This is asking us to go in blind, and that does not sit well. |

Denver, CO - USA, Front Range Sabbat | For | There really arent any options anymore if we want to keep playing as an org, and other organizations are doing fine as NPOs. If it ends up sucking or ends up going BNS, FRS will just leave and become troupe or something but we wont know till we try here and ultimately this is about what works for the most number of games, not the particulars of the individual chronicle... that whole 'shared world' thing and all. |

Boston, MA - USA, Reclaimed | Against | Doesn't particularly matter, but there should be more of a plan and clarification (eg 501(c)3 vs. 501(c)7 etc). There are quite a difference between tax liabilities and such regarding these different entities. Who is going to do handle the audit going back five years for every game if we do go 501(c)3 if we even qualify? Shouldn't we be going with a 501(c)7? There should just be a bit more transparency around this topic rather than "hey, I have an idea." |
