The Giovanni are, by and large, an extremely old fashioned entity, caught up inancient custom and unbreakable tradition. While this can be said of the other Clans,
the Giovanni are set apart from the others by one important factor: Augustus
Giovanni. The Giovanni Antediluvian is very real and very active, and considers
every member of his clan a direct extension of his will. This is not negotiable,
arguable, or changeable. All Giovanni are free to do as their will dictates, as long

If we are going to change something for the Giovanni that increases RP and interactions then I cannot in good conscience agree with this. OWBN is not WW genre and until all other clans follow suit, I will not agree with this. I do think it is nice that this is an attempt to correct issues with the Giovanni, but the problem isn't the Directorate. It is the Necromancy packet, it is wonky chracters that we can't do anything about. Why break the one thing that, in our opinion, actually works and encourages interaction. In additon, if these are going to be held by sub-coords, they better be as damnably active as the PCs are in putting plot, ideas, etc...into play. There are so many things that need to be fixed instead of breaking this...work on those things before dissolving the one opportunity that many players have to look forward to. I should also add that I have never been contacted, addressed or requested to present any changes such as these. There are players in our game that have invested quite a bit of time in making the Giovanni more playable (modifying rituals, adding new ones, changing house rules to work better for GIovanni). I have personally never been contacted by a sub-coord or coord about anything involving Giovanni, which seems somehow lacking since we are a Giovanni game. Well, since we are all for switching to genre, where is the proposal to allow the Giovanni to teach the basics of Necromancy in exchange for Thaumaturgy as is discussed in the updated clan book... :) |

We do not feel that this is the chronicle's fault, and we have difficulty supporting the proposal of a coordinator who is not listening to the game his actions effect the most. If this thing passes, I do hope that the Giovanni Coordinator will begin doing his job in earnest and backing up the actions he has taken. As for our game, we're Cam, no Giovanni allowed, except those blasted visiting characters. :) We will support the underdogs in this, as they seem to be in the right. |
