I propose that the following be added to the bylaws as Character Regulation Bylaw, section 8, subsection e.:
"PCs may only have one style, or variant, of Blood Magic."
And that Character Regulation Bylaw, section 8, subsection a. be amended to
define the styles, or variants, as:
"1. Hermetic Thaumaturgy
2. Assamite Sorcery
3. Koldunic Sorcery
4. Western Necromancy
5. Voudoun Necromancy
6. Ahku
7. Wanga
8. Dur-An-Ki
9. Sadhana
10. Nahuallotl"
Furthermore, all characters currently with more than one style of magic will
be reduced to one style and given a refund of experience points spent on
said magics at their STs discretion.
This proposal has the full support of the following Coordinators who are in
charge of their respective blood magics:
Bryan Himebaugh, Assamite Coordinator
Mike Lehman, Tremere Coordinator
Dan L. Gill, Giovanni Coordinator
Josh Tanner, Setite Coordinator
Mike Pumpkinhead, Tzimisce Coordinator
Respectfully submitted,
William E. Genich

New York City, NY - USA, Kings of New York | For | it fills my dark heart with joy. |
St. Petersburg, FL - USA, Faces of Change | Against | Understanding Biology shouldn't bar you from learning Chemistry. Let the individual Chronicles decide what is proper and isn't in their own games. |
Los Angeles, CA - USA, La Sangre De Los Angeles | For | they won't get it anyway here but now we have more exscuses to say no:) |
Saint Paul, MN - USA, Obsidian Towers | For
Iowa City, IA - USA, Fields of Rage | For
Milwaukee, WI - USA, Nocturnal Rapture | Against | While I may personally be in favor of this, I have to go with the way my players feel. |
Tampa, FL - USA, Tampa Bay by Night | Against | STs should police their own. We're for characters only having one faith based magic, so if Western Necro and Hermetic Thaum were taken off the list, we could support this prop. |
Duluth, MN - USA, Thicker than Blood | For | It may be a stop gap but the reality is that for a lot of people, this is a major issue. Trust us, this affects us as well since we are all Giovanni but this is something that could balance out quite a few things. In addition, NPCs could finally be nasty again BY having multiple forms of blood magic... |
Philadelphia, PA - USA, Nusquam | Against | Gotta go with LONE on this one. Again this boils down to a trust factor in ST staffs. |
Chicago, IL - USA, Dark Requiem | For | Magic requires much devotion...to have multiple paths would be impossible for anyone but Caine (or Lilith:)). |
Indianapolis, IN - USA, Stars Never Rise | For | Thank God. |
Winona, MN - USA, Winona Dark Haven | For
Auburn, CA - USA, Lux Tenebras | Against
Norwalk, CT - USA, Rails of Revolution | Against
Providence, RI - USA, Hidden Flame | For
Cleveland, OH - USA, Carpe Noctum | Against | See LONE |
Dayton, OH - USA, Dying Embers | For | If ST's could say no to this type of BS, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. |
Washington, DC - USA, Shadows on the Mall | For | This should be handled on a chronicle level, but it has not been. Thus we take steps to We've used the ''Trust Factor'' before, and so far it's gotten us assorted genre breaking characters/coteries that for some reason, despite their constant breaches of the in character laws, out of character genre, and rampant often unnecessary slaying of other PC's some how manage to continue to exist freely, and unchallenged. |
Phoenix, AZ - USA, Secundus Surrectum | For
Kenosha, WI - USA, Memento Mori | For
Green Bay, WI - USA, Shattered Dreams | For | Multiple forms of Magic on one PCs sheet=cheese |
Harrisonburg, VA: Death in the Valley | For
Iowa City, IA - USA, L'Ange Noir | For | while I can see the argument for simply having the faith based styles exclusive of one another, we're willing to accept the broader restriction in the name of cheese control |
Northern Virginia, VA - USA, Night Falls | For
Annapolis, MD - USA, Vitae Aeternus | For
Edwardsville, IL - USA, Caught in Eternal Twilight | Against | Granted, we usually vote on the side of NOT stripping more power from individual STs. But this vote has a lot more to do with the fact that if this passes, it will basically nuke House High Saturday out of the water. Making rules that nuke genre = bad. |

Chronicle/Position Unknown | Against | This would have been a good local house rule, and it is unfortunate that some feel that we must place this in the bylaws to clean up the permissive crap exercised under the ancient banner of Chronicle Soverntry |

LONE | Against | As stated perviously, I will not support any prop that tells me what disciplines I can or can't allow my players to by. This is a stop gap to fix a problem, but it doen't address the problem; the attitude of sts that just say yes.Make the Sts accountable when they do things like this, make them post why its being done. Simply banning something just means those same people will find other cheese. Will we ban that next? Then the next thing? Then the next? I'm sorry that I can not support the coords in this. |
