Open Votes
Proposal Type: Genre Packet
Opened: 04-Dec-2025 12:00AM EST
Closing: 04-Dec-2025 12:00AM EST
THIS PROPOSAL HAS THE POTENTIAL TO AUTO-PASS
This proposal is made in accordance with the Coordinator Bylaws, section 3.C. (Subsections ii. and iii.):
3. Coordinator Duties
C. Genre Coordinators
iii. Genre Coordinators must pass before Council any plot, enforced policy, R&U named characters, or binding edict they wish to use which they can reasonably expect to affect multiple chronicles and these proposals need not be seconded, but go immediately into discussion.
1. If no opposition is voiced during the week of discussion, the proposal is considered passed and enforceable. Once passed these are considered binding to all chronicles and a chronicles refusal to adhere is grounds for OWBN disciplinary measures. Opposition must be in regards to the content of the proposal and must give those reasons why the objection is voiced. This is to allow Coordinator's the opportunity to respond and/or make changes/remove the proposal and its contents.
Pursuant to Coordinator Bylaw 3.C.iii, as the Setite Coordinator, I, Alexander Tomasi, in my duties as said Coordinator, hereby propose the following line edit to the Setite Cults and Bloodlines Packet.
Add:
m. ii. 81. Followers of Apep PC: Disallowed NPC: Unregulated
vi. 8. Follower of Set Paths of Enlightenment
a. Road of Set - PC: Coordinator Approval - NPC: Coordinator Notify - Coordinator: Setite
b. Path of Apep - PC: Disallowed - NPC: Unregulated - Coordinator: Setite
New Bloodline:
Followers of Apep
The so-called Followers of Apep are not simply heretics within the Setite fold—they are a living blasphemy. Where the faithful of Set see corruption as a means to an end—a tool for tearing down false idols and preparing the world for Set’s return—the Apep cultists wallow in decay for its own sake. To them, corruption is not a weapon but a sacrament.
They claim that their immortal condition is not a curse of Caine, nor a burden of divine punishment, but rather a blessing from the serpent Apep itself—the eternal enemy of order, light, and creation. As such, they pursue lives of unrestrained chaos, indulgence, and destruction. They thrive on sowing discord, shattering bonds, and undermining meaning wherever it can be found. If the Setites whisper lies to test the will of mortals, the Apep cultists scream them into the night, delighting in the ruin they leave behind.
This philosophy is utterly anathema to the Setites who walk the Roads and Paths of Set. Where Set teaches embrace of chaos as a step towards mastery and godhood, the Apep cultists embrace it on their way to submission to it; where Set demands discipline, they exalt in excess. Their heretical creed mocks Set’s vision, replacing divine purpose with meaningless dissolution.
Yet, perhaps most insidious of all, the heretical Path of Apep has become the face of the clan in the eyes of outsiders. To many Kindred, there is no distinction between a faithful Setite and a mindless Apep-worshipper. Their debauchery, gleeful corruption, and destructive nihilism have become the stereotype by which the entire clan is judged. Where Set sought cunning, discipline, and divine purpose, the cult of Apep drags his name through the mud—making all Setites appear as nothing more than agents of chaos and degradation.
Advantage: Followers of Apep may acquire Dark Thaumaturgy (Infernalist sorcery) through pacts and investments with their patron "serpent" or its demonic emissaries. While this is never considered an in-clan Discipline, they may purchase Dark Thaumaturgy at out-of-clan costs, regardless of the source or ritual pathway, provided the Storyteller agrees that they have engaged in the appropriate blasphemous rites.
Disadavantage: Whenever an Apepite stays in one place more than a night (This can be changed to different durations to fit the story by ST discretion), the Storyteller may introduce complications—mortal NPCs turning against each other, things breaking down, or accidents happening. Additionally, any use of Auspex automatically reveal their infernal taint, even if this specific Apepite has not made a pact yet.
Disciplines: Obfuscate, Presence, Serpentis
