Custom Blood Magic: Ritual
Some chronicles allow for their players to develop customized powers for their characters. The following is a compilation of player created custom content in OWBN. At this time, custom content that is created and/or used by vampire PC's is required to be listed.
Thaumaturgy: Milk of Set: Intoxication of Venus (basic), Road of Sin pg 74
The Water of Venus is a headily aromatic substance, carrying a densely tangled scent of flowers and herbs and sweet resins with a subtle hint of vitae, dark red in hue, which the Citizens of Typhon Trismegistus give out in thinned form during the Aphrodisiac revels. Diluted in wine (or another intoxicant) and drunk it has an almost explosively sensual effect, heightening the senses and arousing the flesh to an almost insatiable degree.
System: After creating a batch of the Waters of Venus, the Follower of Set blesses alcohol or hashish with the Water, enabling Cainites to imbibe both intoxicants freely. Caintes suffer the penalties associated with alcohol (for every two "drinks" consumed, the imbiber gains the negative mental trait Oblivious and the negative physical trait Clumsy, dissipating in approximately one hour after consuming) and hashish (the Cainite gains the negative mental trait Oblivious and is up a trait to resist frenzy, dissipating in approximately one hour after consuming) depending on what intoxicants they consume. Each casting of this ritual creates enough Water of Venus to bless a dozen substances (a bottle of liquor, pound of hashish, etc).
Casting time: Ten minutes.
Description: By using various organs from a dead drug addict, the Lector Priest is able to enhance the qualities of regular drugs. Enhancing their effects for ghouls, and allowing kindred to imbibe them as normal.
This quality lasts until the drug is imbibed.
Mechanics: The lector Priest needs to obtain the organs and skull of a dead drug addict.
The organ needs to be associated with the way the drug is used. (I.e. lungs for marijuana, veins/arteries or a heart for injected drugs such as heroin. Brain for shrooms or cocaine.)
The organ must be dried out and ground up into a fine dust. After which it is mixed with one trait of the priests vitae. Then poured into the skull through an opening through which the drug is normally taken.
(I.e. shrooms and pot through the mouth. Cocaine through the nose, heroin through the eyeballs.)
Then the drug is added to the mix through the same opening. And left to sit under the light of a full moon while the Priest offers a prayer to Sutekh, speaking blasphemies of Heka, goddess of medicine.
Any living mortal taking the drug must succeed at a contested physical challenge vs. the priests social traits for the ritual. Otherwise suffer from the effects of necrotizing fasciitis.
Ghouls taking the drugs are effected by an enhanced euphoria as the experience is greater then any they could have on normal drugs. Though the chance of overdose is the same as taking normal drugs.
And kindred imbibing the drugs are affected as if they are able to do so naturally. As a mundane high.
The ritual on the drugs last until they are imbibed.
Each casting of the ritual is good for one pound/liter/kilo of the drug being mixed in.
As per Setite Customs Packet
This salve effectively gives user the merit magic resistance, lasts scene or hour
The Lichter Priest siphons a small amount of bodily fluid from the currently mummified Blasphemy Shrine. This fluid mixed with the Priest's own blood and the water extracted from lettuce leaves, creates a tonic that allows the Priest accept what some would consider embarrassment of suffering and move past it knowing that their would-be attacker has been tricked and made the Priest more powerful as a result. The powers beyond the Du'at fueling the tonic, however remain jealous and attempt to prevent the Priest from accomplishing their goal.
Mechanics
The tonic is created, imbibed and lays dormant in the character's body. When a character is declared the victim of a targeted effect, the player must declare the use of this dormant tonic before the challenges are thrown. When they do, they gain 1, 2, or 3 (basic, Int, Adv) bonus traits to resist the effect they have been targeted with (The Du'at attempting to thwart the character's plans). Should the character still become a victim of the targeted power, the dormant tonic replicates the effect the character has suffered.
The character may have only one of each level of this ritual dormant within them at any given time - one basic, one intermediate, and one advanced.
The character may only have one of each level of replicated effects - one basic, one intermediate and one advanced.
The Sorcerer's Mimic may only mimic magical effects and may not be used on "area of effect" abilities or abilities which do not "target" the Priest, but instead target their user or their equipment.
Example:
Flame Bolt targets the Priest in specific - Firestorm does not as it is Area of Effect. Equally, Burning Blade targets the blade and its fire burns the priest, but the ritual did not target the priest.
Using
Using the replicated effect must follow all of the same rules as the effect being replicated. The Tonic now serves as the catalyst/fuel/focus for that effect. The Lichter Priest's body either consumes the tonic as if it were the required cost and suffers a lethal damage - then may use their next available action to channel its effects. To use a stored replicated effect (as seen below) the priest follows the same process, they however must use an action to drink the selected replicated effect first.
Example:
The Lichter Priest successfully Mimics "Flame Bolt" and decides that on their next available action they wish to channel that effect and "return fire". The Priest suffers one lethal damage as their body absorbs and uses the tonic, and then may declare a target and attempt to strike someone with a flame bolt of their very own.
Storing
The character is capable of assuming Skin of the Adder or Form of the Cobra (or V20 DA equivalent) and milk said "poison" from their system and bottling it for later use. This milking takes 1, 3, or 5 minutes depending on the level being stored.. If the replicated effect is bottled in this fashion, it expires after 367 days, or is destroyed if exposed to sunlight. The only limit to how many of these "replicated" effects, is how many times the Lichter Priest is able and willing to fall victim to its effects.

Ptah is the god of craftsman, and ultimately the deity responsible for the creation of everything. A lector priest may call upon this aspect of Ptah to enhance the apparent quality of an item. By combining a bit of blood, sand, and crude oil into a mixture, then praying over the resulting concoction for 30 minutes, the caster creates the Milk of Set know as The Blessing of Ptah.
This ritual allows the user to enhance an object or substance already produced, improving it's apparent quality. When the concoction is poured over an object, it's "apparent quality" is improved by two levels. This does not actually improve the traits or functionality of an item, it only improves the apparent levels of the Crafts ability use to make the item. If multiple types of Crafts were used on creating the item, this ritual affects the Crafts skill most closely associated with it's physical form and appearance.
System:
Crafting the Milk of Set requires simple ingredients. Anyone may apply the Blessing of Ptah to an item, using the gold colored oil to polish the item and then wiping it clean. The item appears to be made two crafts levels higher than it was actually made with, up to a maximum Craft rating of x10. The item only appears to be higher quality. It does not receive any special benefits for it's higher craft rating beyond looking like a higher quality item. Even a trained craftsman cannot see through the deception. The effect lasts for one lunar cycle, and can be extended another cycle by applying the Milk to the item at any time before the effect wears off. There is no limit to the number of times the effect can be extended, but multiple uses of the Blessing of Ptah and similar magical effects to do not stack.

This Milk of Set variant, through mixing powdered malachite, elder human urine and other ingredients symbolizing eternity and, calling upon Thot, creates a bluish green liquid that when mixed to another Milk of Thot extends its duration.
System: If added to another potent Milk of Set variant, it extends the duration from 1 week to one month. You cannot create another dose of Thot’s Pittance while it is active or one month has passed.
Mirror Aport (Advanced Custom Thaumaturgic Ritual)
This ritual allows the thaumaturge who knows it to enchant a set of two identical mirrors to allow transport from one mirror to the other, regardless of the intervening distance between the paired mirrors.
In order to properly create the sigils and symbols necessary to link the two mirrors requires the following abilities: Occult(x4), and either Sacred Geometry (x2) or Astrology(x2). This allows for greater utilization within the hierarchy, allowing for greater divergence of practical paradigm, as exemplified by the number of Houses currently within the Pyramid.
The sigils and symbols inscribed must be placed as mirrors of one another (up becomes down, right becomes left, so a symbol inscribed in the upper left-hand corner would then be inscribed in the lower right).
The linked mirrors must both be stationary for the link to be established, and for the entire time the link is actively maintained.
To activate the mirror pair, the thaumaturge must successfully cast the ritual “Mirror Walk” (LoE, p.91)
The number of individuals able to travel through the mirrors at any one time at the thaumaturge’s direction is limited to twice the casting thaumaturge’s permanent occult abilities. Each traveler spends a Mental Trait and stepping through the mirror. They will appear in the same position at the other mirror. An intervening object will cause the aportation to fail, though the link is not severed.
The active link may be severed in the following ways:
· The activating thaumaturge may step through the mirror in the same manner, at which point the active link between mirrors ends.
· If either mirror is moved at all, the active link is disrupted, and the process to link the mirrors must be start over from the beginning to re-establish the active link.
· Any damage to either mirror permanently disrupts the enchantment, as the mirrors are no longer reflections of each other. Repairing the mirror does not correct this.
· The activating thaumaturge wills the active link to end.
· Only one set of mirrors can be in use at a time. Any activation of a different set causes the link on any other set to fail.
To create the mirror pair, the thaumaturge must spend an evening, and 10 traits of their vitae to inscribe the sigils and enchant the mirrors. On the item cards for the mirrors, should be listed the creating thaumaturge, the date of enchantment, and a paired, unique ID. For example, “Created by Meerlinda, Jan 1, 2019, Mirror 1 of 2, Set 1AA”
The thaumaturge may only possess a number of active mirror sets equal to their Permanent Willpower/5. Only one set of mirrors can be in use at a time. Any activation of a different set causes the link on any other set to fail (but the mirror set itself remains viable for use later).
If the wording of “Mirror Walk” and “Mirror Aport” conflict, the wording of “Mirror Aport” takes precedence.
System:
Prerequisites: Mirror Walk, Occult Ability (x4), and either Sacred Geometry (x2) or Astrology (x2)
Mirror Attunement: Intermediate Ritual
System: This ritual requires a glass mirror. The caster must etch (properly and with good
craftsmanship, as hieroglyphics are not only a language but a set of magical symbols as
well) into the glass, a border of text. That text being a very lengthy and poetic
description of a soul passing through its own reflection. Then the "mate" of this mirror
must have the exact mirrored set of hieroglyphs etched in by the caster, including any
flaws or extended artistic whim. The caster then paints in, with her vitae, the etched
hieroglyphs (the mirror image reflection on its mate, identically) and brings them 'to
life'. The blood then must be left to dry, in the waxing half‐moon moonlight.
After this preparation these two mirrors ‐ no matter what location, distance, or angle ‐ can be entered by
someone using the ritual "Mirror Walk", and exit out the 'mate' of the mirror entered.
Effect: Taking one Oboli (wraith soul coin), and a silver hoop, one pierces the coin with the hoop. The hoop then acts as a divining rod leading the bearer (a gentle tug, does not tug if set down) in the direction of the next closes piece of Oboli made from the same soul. One all eight pieces have been found, the coins can be restored to one piece.
This ritual does not do what it was intended to do, but at least is a very good look into how currency travels throughout the land of the dead. :)
Advanced
Comine your blood, and the blood of someone with the merit 'magic resistant'
Feed this blood to an ash or oak tree every night for a full cycle of the moon. (It only takes a trait per person involved, not a trait each night)
When a stick, stake, or club formed from this tree (only one can be made per casting) contacts someone (other then the caster) actively using blood magic (including rituals, and potency, ect), they stand to loose their blood magic for but a round.
The target can not use any blood magic for one full round, after which they may begin recasting. The stake/stick/club crumbles after one use. For each active power on the target, engage them in a contested willpower challenge to see if that power/ritual drops. Powers lost in this mannor can be recast the following round (but not this one). Rituals lost in this mannor must be recast as normal. (Requiring ritual casting times.)
