2026 - Toreador - Mirtila Gouveia
Introduction and Background:
Hello, my dear Roses and admirers of the Clan (even the secret ones).
If you do not find yourself in one of these categories, perhaps my candidacy is not for you. I say this because I believe that playing or following the Toreador genre requires a passion and involvement that must not only be celebrated, but also fervently supported, considering the beauties and the pains that this game can bring.
My name is Mirtila Gouveia, and I have been part of OWBN since 2008. In recent years, I have been more active playing with the Malkavian PC (or “Malkeador,” for some) Calliandra Grimm, but I began my experience in the org with the Toreador PC Maria Eduarda de Alcântara Vieira, my first PC of national/international relevance.
With her, I experienced significant changes within the genre, both Toreador and Camarilla, including the shift in leadership of the South American Guild to PCs. This character was the first PC Guild Lord and Knight of the Rose in South America.
At that time, Harpies were mere secretaries and there was little space for players of Clan Toreador. As far as I could see, the Clan was considered unattractive for lacking distinguishing features, cool powers, and political relevance.
Much has changed since then, due to the quality, tenacity, and distinction of the players, who transformed a fully player-driven genre, without rigid hierarchical structures, with leadership based on charisma and novelistic dramas, into what is now a political and cultural reference in the halls of the Camarilla.
I have never ceased to admire and be passionate about the Toreador genre, and at this moment, I have decided to apply for the position of Toreador Coord, with the goal of helping make the game for the Clan even more engaging.
I am willing to fulfill the role of Toreador Coord to the best of my ability, aware of the importance of this position to many, and therefore I commit to acting with agility, responsibility, and respect, both for the people and for the entire history built up to this day, conscious of how important this legacy is.

Se você não se encontra em uma dessas categorias, talvez a minha candidatura não seja para você. Digo isso porque considero que jogar ou acompanhar o gênero Toreador exige uma paixão e envolvimento que precisam não apenas ser celebrados, mas também apoiados fervorosamente, considerando as belezas e as dores que esse jogo pode trazer.
Meu nome é Mirtila Gouveia, faço parte da OWBN desde 2008. Nos últimos anos, estive mais em atividade jogando com a PC Malkaviana (ou “Malkeador”, para alguns) Calliandra Grimm, mas comecei minha experiência na org com a PC Toreador Maria Eduarda de Alcântara Vieira, minha primeira PC de relevância nacional/internacional.
Com ela eu vivi mudanças significativas no gênero, tanto Toreador quanto Camarilla, incluindo a mudança de liderança da Guilda Sul-Americana para pcs. Essa personagem foi a primeira PC Lorde da Guilda e Knight of the Rose da América do Sul.
Naquela época, Harpias eram meras secretárias e havia pouco espaço para jogadores do Clã Toreador. Até onde conseguia ver, o clã era considerado pouco atrativo por não ter diferenciais, poderes legais e pouca relevância política.
Muito mudou desde então, devido a qualidade, tenacidade e distinção dos jogadores, que fizeram um gênero totalmente player driven, sem estruturas hierárquicas rígidas, com lideranças baseadas no carisma e com dramas novelescos, ser hoje uma referência política e cultural nos salões da Camarilla.
Nunca deixei de admirar e ser apaixonada pelo gênero Toreador e neste momento, decidi aplicar para a posição de Coord Toreador, com o objetivo de colaborar para que o jogo para o clã seja ainda mais envolvente.
Estou disposta a cumprir o papel de Coord Toreador da melhor forma que eu puder, com ciência da importância dessa posição para muitos, portanto assumo o compromisso de atuar com agilidade, responsabilidade e respeito, tanto pelas pessoas como por toda história já construída até hoje, ciente do quanto este legado é importante.
Administrative Experience:
I have been connected with the organization for 18 years, with on-and-off involvement, mainly as a player, but that time I have had some administrative experience. Currently, I am CM of the Parahyba by Night chronicle, where I have also occasionally served as ST, and I additionally assist as an ST in the Alto Tietê chronicle. I have also helped organize regional events in the Northeast for many years while playing.
In my professional life, I am a psychologist in the public education system, which constantly places me in situations requiring qualified listening, conflict management, and coordinating or participating in projects. I believe this experience can help me understand and address the demands and needs of player and storyteller communities, and support the paths, directions, and tools that those who make the game bring forward to enrich it.

Tenho contato com a organização há 18 anos, com idas e vindas, principalmente como jogadora, mas tive algumas experiências administrativas nesse período. Atualmente sou CM da crônica de Parahyba by Night, onde já atuei pontualmente como ST, e também atuo auxiliando como ST na crônica de Alto Tietê. Também auxiliei na realização de eventos regionais no Nordeste, enquanto jogadora, por muitos anos.
Na vida profissional, sou psicóloga na rede pública de ensino, o que me coloca constantemente em situações de escuta qualificada, lidar com conflitos e coordenar ou participar de projetos. Acredito que essa experiência possa me ajudar a compreender e lidar com as demandas e necessidades das comunidades dos jogadores e storytellers, e apoiar os caminhos, direções e ferramentas que aqueles que fazem o jogo trazem para enriquecê-lo.
Personal Statement:
And you may be wondering: but does she only talk about the South American Camarilla Clan? That is indeed the scenario I have followed since forever; however, I will make every effort and dedicate myself fully to better understanding the nuances and needs of North America, other sects, and bloodlines. To that end, I also intend to rely on a strong team of sub-coords and on the community within and around the game to help me gain the clarity and perspectives necessary for the genre to flourish even further (of course, I would use garden metaphors!).
I am an enthusiast of the game’s internationalization and of the great possibilities for articulation and integration of plots, characters, and movements between the hemispheres. I must confess that I have a good level of English for reading and writing, though not as strong in speaking and listening, so I intend to overcome any communication or NPC interpretation difficulties with the support of a team.
I am aware of how challenging and important the position of a Genre Coordinator is, and how much the Toreador genre requires the proper attention of the person in that role. I have learned a great deal from my experience in the game, both within and outside the clan, and I feel motivated to take on this function with the desire to support storytelling teams and players with their stories, in maintaining the legacy built so far, and in pursuing the necessary directions (according to the objectives below), with respect and transparency.

E você pode estar se perguntando: mas ela só fala do Clã da Camarilla da América do Sul? Esse é de fato o cenário que eu acompanho mais de perto desde criancinha, contudo vou me esforçar e me dedicar ao máximo para entender melhor as nuances e necessidades norte-americanas, de outros sectos e linhagens do clã. Para isso, também pretendo contar com um bom time de sub coords e a comunidade dentro e entorno do jogo para me auxiliarem a ter a clareza e as perspectivas necessárias para o gênero florescer ainda mais (é claro que usaria metáforas com Jardim!).
Sou uma entusiasta da internacionalização do jogo e das grandes possibilidades de articulação e integração de tramas, personagens e movimentos entre os hemisférios. Devo confessar que tenho um bom nível de inglês para leitura e escrita, mas nem tanto para fala e escuta, então pretendo suprir quaisquer dificuldades de comunicação e interpretação de NPC’s com o apoio de um time.
Estou ciente do quão desafiador e importante é a posição de um Coordenador de gênero, e o quanto o gênero Toreador precisa da devida atenção daquele na posição. Aprendi muito com minha experiência de jogo, dentro e fora do clã, e sinto-me motivada para assumir essa função com vontade de apoiar equipes de narração e jogadores com suas histórias, na manutenção do legado construído até então, e nos encaminhamentos necessários (conforme objetivos abaixo), com respeito e transparência.
Goals:
- Encourage interactions within the clan by providing support to STs so that important events and gatherings can take place, using setting tools and personalities that are relevant to the Toreador, always weighing their appropriateness and purpose.
- Provide support to players in order to make the game more inclusive and participatory, respecting the particularities of the North American and South American regions.
- Work with Coordinators of other clans and sects to support Toreador play in its various existing aspects and in the development of new ones.
- Act alongside a team of sub-coordinators from the USA and Brazil, with the goal of addressing demands in an agile and personalized manner, responding to emails as promptly as possible and committing not to leave matters without response and/or resolution for long or indefinite periods.
- Review and propose the Daughters of Cacophony (DoC) packet.
- Carry out at least one update to the Toreador Packet, with the goal of clarifying aspects that are the subject of player questions, without implementing deep structural changes that might rigidify or harm the genre.
Goals (Portuguese):
- Estimular as interações no clã, provendo apoio aos STs para que eventos e encontros importantes sejam realizados, utilizando ferramentas de cenário e personalidades que sejam relevantes aos Toreador, ponderando sempre a pertinência e propósito.
- Fornecer apoio aos jogadores para tornar o jogo mais inclusivo e participativo, respeitando as particularidades das regiões Norte Americana e Sul Americana.
- Trabalhar com os Coordenadores de outros clãs e sectos para apoiar o jogo Toreador nos vários aspectos existentes e no desenvolvimento de novos.
- Atuar com uma equipe de subcoordenadores dos USA e Brasil, com o objetivo de atender as demandas de forma ágil e personalizada, respondendo aos e-mails com a maior brevidade possível e também me comprometendo a não deixar assuntos sem resposta e/ou resolução por longos ou indefinidos períodos.
- Revisar e propor o pacote Filhas da Cacofonia (DoC).
- Realizar pelo menos uma atualização no Toreador Packet, com o objetivo de clarificar aspectos que sejam objetos de dúvidas dos jogadores, sem realizar mudanças estruturais profundas que engessem ou prejudiquem o gênero.
