2026 - Giovanni - David Ashby
Introduction and Background:
Hello Everyone! For those that don't know me, my name is David Ashby. I have been a member of One World by Night since the summer of 2007 when I created my first character, a Giovanni PC. The Giovanni genre is by far my favorite Clan genre. I have enjoyed playing in OWbN with everything that comes with it. From attending a variety of games and events to making many great friends over the years. Not just those local or regional, but from all over the world. This hobby has been one of the best experiences of my life. I plan on playing for many more years to come and hopefully making many more friends. I would like to use my previous experiences as a player, Coordinator and time on various storytelling staffs to help support this genre.

Olá a todos! Para quem não me conhece, meu nome é David Ashby. Sou membro do One World by Night desde o verão de 2007, quando criei meu primeiro personagem, um jogador Giovanni. O gênero Giovanni é, de longe, meu gênero de clã favorito. Tenho aproveitado muito jogar no OWbN e tudo o que ele oferece. Desde participar de diversos jogos e eventos até fazer muitos amigos incríveis ao longo dos anos. Não apenas amigos locais ou regionais, mas de todo o mundo. Este hobby tem sido uma das melhores experiências da minha vida. Pretendo jogar por muitos anos mais e, com sorte, fazer muitos outros amigos. Gostaria de usar minhas experiências anteriores como jogador, coordenador e em diversas equipes de narrativa para ajudar a apoiar este gênero.

Personal Statement:
I want to keep the Giovanni genre that we have created in OWbN going and growing. In this regard I want to include everyone that I can in this genre. I am looking to expand on what we have, while at the same time giving plots and ideas for the PC’s willing to get into what the genre really is about. I know I can do the job and have the right mind and attitude that is needed for it. My personal guidelines on how I plan to act include:
- Use a clear head to make all decisions.
- Be approachable and compassionate to the situations of others.
- Be able to tell people ‘NO' when it is needed.
- Never respond in anger.
- Prioritize and make sure I carry on a continuous dialogue about boundaries and comfort levels with the people I interact with in OWbN.
- Remember that everyone deserves a shot when it comes to interacting with NPCs as long as they are willing to accept the consequences of those actions.
- Provide measured but dynamic opportunities to players of all point and experience levels.
Personal Statement (Portuguese):
Quero manter o gênero Giovanni que criamos em OWbN ativo e em constante crescimento. Nesse sentido, quero incluir todos que puder nesse gênero. Busco expandir o que já temos, ao mesmo tempo em que ofereço tramas e ideias para os jogadores que desejam se aprofundar no que o gênero realmente representa. Sei que posso fazer o trabalho e que tenho a mentalidade e a atitude necessárias para isso. Minhas diretrizes pessoais sobre como pretendo agir incluem:
- Tomar todas as decisões com clareza.
- Ser acessível e compassivo com as situações dos outros.
- Saber dizer "NÃO" quando necessário.
- Nunca responder com raiva.
- Priorizar e garantir um diálogo contínuo sobre limites e níveis de conforto com as pessoas com quem interajo em OWbN.
- Lembrar que todos merecem uma chance ao interagir com NPCs, desde que estejam dispostos a aceitar as consequências de suas ações.
- Oferecer oportunidades equilibradas, porém dinâmicas, para jogadores de todos os níveis de experiência e pontos.
Goals:
I have a lot of goals to do and listed below are the primary ones I really wish to focus on. Some of these are ongoing and will be updated as we go forward. I have included in a few of these where we are in the goal.
-Create new/updated Genre packets for my office. (Packet is with Team Documents for their review.)
-Work on addressing any potential loose ends that may still exist from previous terms. (I've tried to wrap up as many as I could from even this term)
-Employ efficient turnaround time to emails and approval requests.
-Help facilitate and distribute plot modules that ST staffs can run for their players. (This is a major focus this year as our plot starts to move forward.)
-Work with the Coordinator offices that are attached through story and approvals to the Giovanni office in order to positively support PCs, NPC’s, and players.
-Work with Team Giovanni to make sure that anything printed that falls under the office gets evaluated and if needed, addressed. (Bylaw Updates will happen!)
-Work with the Brazilian games to expand the genre. This could include an international plot. (Got 3 great Subcoord for the region. Will continue to expand however I can.)
Goals (Portuguese):
Tenho muitos objetivos a cumprir e, abaixo, listo os principais nos quais realmente quero me concentrar. Alguns deles estão em andamento e serão atualizados conforme avançarmos. Incluí em alguns deles o progresso que já alcançamos.
- Criar novos/atualizados pacotes de Gêneros para o meu escritório. (O pacote está com a Equipe de Documentos para revisão.)
- Trabalhar para resolver quaisquer pendências que ainda possam existir de períodos anteriores. (Tentei concluir o máximo possível, mesmo neste período.)
- Garantir um tempo de resposta eficiente para e-mails e solicitações de aprovação.
- Ajudar a facilitar e distribuir módulos de enredo que os membros da equipe do Narrador possam usar com seus jogadores. (Este é um foco importante este ano, à medida que nossa trama começa a avançar.)
- Trabalhar com os escritórios de Coordenação que estão vinculados ao escritório Giovanni por meio da história e das aprovações, a fim de apoiar positivamente os PCs, NPCs e jogadores.
- Trabalhar com a Equipe Giovanni para garantir que qualquer material impresso sob responsabilidade do escritório seja avaliado e, se necessário, corrigido. (Atualizações do regulamento acontecerão!)
- Trabalhar com os jogos brasileiros para expandir o gênero. Isso pode incluir uma trama internacional. (Consegui 3 ótimos Subcoords para a região. Continuarei expandindo sempre que possível.)
