Introduction and Background:

Hi! My name is Samantha Swanson. I have been a part of OWbN for over 24 years and have served on multiple coordinator teams as well as Changing Breed Staffs as both ST and HST. For the past 6 years I have served on the Changing Breeds team as Team Klaive helping each coordinator process any multi spirit fetishes Grand, Great or Bane Klaives that have come into the office. Through out my time in OWbN I have played garou for 20 of those years. Currently I play Kalliope Ambrose Gress called Memento Mori and Keeper of Death's Records an Elder Black Fury Homid Galliard of the nation and Talesinger of the Nation within the Changing Breeds Genre.

Olá! Meu nome é Samantha Swanson. Faço parte da OWbN há mais de 24 anos e já trabalhei em diversas equipes de coordenação, bem como na Equipe de Raças Mutantes, tanto como Terapeuta de Suporte quanto como Terapeuta de Suporte Humano. Nos últimos 6 anos, tenho atuado na Equipe de Raças Mutantes como Equipe Klaive, auxiliando cada coordenador a lidar com quaisquer fetiches multiespíritos, sejam eles Grandes, Grandes ou Ruínas Klaives, que chegam ao escritório. Ao longo do meu tempo na OWbN, interpretei um garou por 20 desses anos. Atualmente, interpreto Kalliope Ambrose Gress, também conhecida como Memento Mori e Guardiã dos Registros da Morte, uma Anciã Fúria Negra Homid Galliard da nação e Contadora de Histórias da Nação, dentro do gênero Changing Breeds.

Administrative Experience:

I have served as an Admin for multiple chronicles and for a period of time handled four databases at the same time while the org was still utilizing Grapevine as its primary resource for sheet management. 

I served as HST of 2 different chronicles, one Vampire and one Changing Breed for a combined total of 3 years. I served on the staffs of multiple chronicles granting me a combined total of 12 years of staffing experience including NPC generation, combat running, learning 4 different genres sufficently enough to run combats with PCs of those genres involved, helped host 3 Midwinter Gaming Convention events, 2 as a Vamprie Staff member and 1 year as a Changing Breed staff member. 

While on Changing Breeds team I have worked with multiple games, across different regions to help them craft Grand and Great Klaives for PCs within their games that both fits within the balance of the org at large but also is uniquely tailored to the playstyle of the region the item will be going to. 

Administrative Experience (Portuguese):

Trabalhei como administrador em diversas crônicas e, por um período, gerenciei quatro bancos de dados simultaneamente, enquanto a organização ainda utilizava o Grapevine como principal ferramenta para gerenciamento de fichas.

Atuei como membro da equipe de liderança de duas crônicas diferentes, uma de Vampiros e outra de Raças Mutantes, por um total de três anos. Fiz parte da equipe de diversas crônicas, o que me proporcionou um total de 12 anos de experiência em funções administrativas, incluindo criação de NPCs, condução de combates, aprendizado suficiente de quatro gêneros diferentes para conduzir combates com personagens jogadores desses gêneros, e ajudei a organizar três eventos da Midwinter Gaming Convention, dois como membro da equipe de Vampiros e um ano como membro da equipe de Raças Mutantes.

Durante minha atuação na equipe da Changing Breeds, trabalhei com diversos jogos, em diferentes regiões, para ajudá-los a criar Grandes e Grandes Klaives para personagens jogadores, que se encaixassem no equilíbrio da organização como um todo, mas que também fossem personalizadas para o estilo de jogo da região para a qual o item seria destinado.

Personal Statement:

As I have been a part of the journey through the ever changing landscape of OWbN's Changing Breed landscape, I have enjoyed experiencing stories told from the myriad of perspectives and play styles across the US. Each one of these styles brings a unique experience to the table. It is my hope to begin weaving these styles together so that as an organization we can become more united so that all the players of the Org can experience a wonderfully crafted world together. I have reached out already to individuals from various regions and play styles to put together a team that has a global view of the genre from everyone's perspective, it is my hope that we will be better able to represent and give attention to each region when they feel they have a voice within the office that can speak on their behalf to the coordinator. 

Personal Statement (Portuguese):

Ao acompanhar a jornada pela paisagem em constante transformação do Changing Breed de OWbN, tenho apreciado as histórias contadas a partir das inúmeras perspectivas e estilos de jogo dos EUA. Cada um desses estilos traz uma experiência única. Minha esperança é começar a integrar esses estilos para que, como organização, possamos nos unir ainda mais e todos os jogadores da Organização possam desfrutar juntos de um mundo maravilhosamente construído. Já entrei em contato com pessoas de diversas regiões e estilos de jogo para formar uma equipe com uma visão global do gênero, considerando a perspectiva de todos. Espero que, dessa forma, possamos representar e dar mais atenção a cada região, dando voz aos seus membros dentro da organização e permitindo que falem em seu nome com o coordenador.

Goals:

  1. Bring forward Tribal plots to explore if the tribes that have experienced large changes to their write up in W20 would like to bring those changes to the gaming floor in OWbN different.
  2. Look at the plots from the past and assess which ones have been unresolved or who's stories have not been told to the nation at large and have them wrapped up or told. There are a great many plots that have been resolved but so many of the nation don't know the story and as a genre that relies heavily on oral history I personally feel these stories, good or bad, should be told.
  3. Finish the last of the packets that needs updating to take into account the changes that this org has experienced as well as the changes some tribes have written into W20
  4. De-regulate or reduce regulation on a number of items currently listed as RU for the Changing Breeds
  5. Include regulations for national positions within the nation (Duke, King, Outer Calyx, Righ and others)
  6. Change listings so that they are uniformed in nature (Example: Semi-supernatural vs Supernatural kinfolk which is used to sometimes refer to kinfolk who have hedge magic or partial templates but also is used to describe full supernatural template kinfolk.)
  7. Create an Auspice Packet to help inform players and storytellers about the many ways that any given auspice can be portrayed and still be within genre.

Goals (Portuguese):

  1. Trazer à tona as tramas tribais para explorar se as tribos que sofreram grandes mudanças em suas descrições no W20 gostariam de trazer essas mudanças para o jogo no OWbN de forma diferente.
  2. Analise as tramas do passado e avalie quais ficaram sem resolução ou cujas histórias não foram contadas para a nação como um todo, e faça com que sejam concluídas ou contadas. Há muitas tramas que foram resolvidas, mas muitos na nação não conhecem a história e, como um gênero que depende muito da história oral, eu pessoalmente acho que essas histórias, boas ou ruins, devem ser contadas.
  3. Finalize os últimos pacotes que precisam ser atualizados para levar em consideração as mudanças que esta organização sofreu, bem como as alterações que algumas tribos incluíram no W20.
  4. Desregulamente ou reduza a regulamentação de vários itens atualmente listados como RU para as Raças Mutantes.
  5. Incluir regulamentos para cargos nacionais dentro da nação (Duque, Rei, Cálice Exterior, Direito e outros)
  6. Altere as listas para que sejam uniformes em sua natureza (Exemplo: Parentes semi-sobrenaturais vs. Sobrenaturais, que às vezes se refere a parentes que possuem magia marginal ou modelos parciais, mas também é usado para descrever parentes com modelo sobrenatural completo).
  7. Crie um Guia de Auspícios para informar jogadores e narradores sobre as diversas maneiras pelas quais um determinado auspício pode ser representado sem deixar de estar dentro do gênero.
