Proposal Type: Bylaw Revision
Opened: 28-Jun-2016 12:55AM EDT
Closing: 05-Jul-2016 1:00AM EDT
I, Jonah Pasternak, CM for Heartland Alliance submit the following proposal.
Remove all OWbN R&U Bylaw regulation around the True Faith merit (3 instances lasted in our bylaws).
Reason: This merit is not broken. This has not seen any abuse reported in years. The storytellers should be trusted to allow (or disallow) this based on their own game. This makes it easier for npcs to be utilized as needed.
Note: No grandfathering is necessary.
Thanks,
Jonah of Heartland Alliance

Evansville, IN - USA, Paradise Lost | Against | The bylaw as it stands is Notify for PC's and NPC's for regular True Faith, Notify for NPC's with unusual True Faith, and majority vote for PC's with unusual True Faith. The information regarding Kinfolk with Numina indicates they are Notify. The arguments in favor of this prop have not articulated that it will actually make NPC's any easier to be utilized, as NPC's are only *ever* Notify already. The only thing this prop meaningfully de-regulates is PC's with unusual True Faith, which is often silly. Furthermore, the prop doesn't differentiate between the different versions and uses of True Faith that exist in the rules as written. |

Norwalk, CT - USA, Rails of Revolution | For | I think STs understand the weight and importance of this ability enough to be responsible for this. |

Cleveland, OH - USA, Heartland Alliance | For | This proposal isn't about dictating which rule set controls what merit. This proposal is about the removal of a Rare and Unusual regulation. If games are interested in leading the organization as a whole to a single source for rules (Global House Rules?) please recall that this was already discussed, voted, and denied. You have the right to say NO at your door. You have the right to HOUSE RULE how this merit works. |

Without specifying which version of True Faith this effects and/or disallowing the other types (maybe per genre) this prop doesn't actually help the situation. Stamford, I remember the days of unregulated True Faith and while I wish I could agree with your statement, I cannot. |

Chicago, IL - USA, New Moon Rising | For | We have never had any rules on how true faith work, which books we use, or any other details. Council can't even agree on the definition of "unusual" where faith is concerned. Despite all these things even at its lowest possibly rarity - it hasn't been abused to the point of reporting it, that council has been made aware. Clearly its time to just loose unneeded text from the bylaws and show that the org trusts STs to do what they have already been doing. This comment has been revised 1 time.
