I, Jessica Karels, as Head Coordinator, propose the following:
Changing the Mage Coordinator position from Appointed to Elected.
The listing for Mage Coordinator shall move from Coordinator Bylaw 2.A. (Appointed Coordinator) to 1.B. (Elected Coordinators - Genre Coordinators)
The next election for this position will happen at the next general election, or a special election prior to that should the position become vacated prior to the next general election.

This position becoming elected will only mean that we have to endure yet another popularity contest at election time, in addition to the fact that it's harder to remove a deadbeat Coord who is elected. Keep the responsibility with the HC has the power to hire and fire at his or her whim. |

For the simple reason, one person making the choice for the whole org in these positions, based on little to no experience with that genre is not right, that one person could make a bad choice and really screw up the genre by picking this person. |

Mage | Abstain | As Mage coord, I would voice my support for this. To address the population concern, there are over 100 mage players in OWBN now. About half of them are spread between actual Mage games, about half are cross-genre characters in other game types. Even if the population was low, there's an argument to be made that major splat types should have elected representation. It encourages games of different genres to join, and sends a message that we accept and encourage more than just Vampire and Garou. |
