Introduction and Background:

Hello again everyone! My name is Matt Armitage and I have been honored to be your Sabbat Coord for the last 2 years of OWBN history. In that time a lot has happened that I plan to get into below, so first off let's reintroduce ourselves with a little resharing from last elections application.

I have been in the Org now for about 17 years, and I have been a lover of TTRPGs, LARP, TGCs, and other avenues of gaming long before that. I literally grew up in the Org as much as it could be considered, and became who I am with the Org around me as both a measuring tool and a guide post. The friendships I have made here, the experiences I have had, have all been a huge and fundamental part of the person I have become. It is for those very reasons that I want to continue the role of Sabbat Coord so that I can continue to help guide and shape the Sabbat Genre going forward for the next 2 years.

I love the Sabbat, more than any other genre in WoD, Sabbat really speaks to me. The intense focus on interpersonal conflict as represented in packs or a given city, the inner turmoil represented in morality and paths, and the ever present looming fear one has to grapple with in the face of knowing the end times are upon you. It is the very best of some of my favorite themes in gaming and horror. I firmly believe that the Sabbat will continue to be the flagship for gaming in OWBN, and I want to hold it to that standard. (Though my hats off to Michael and crew for doing some amazing work with the Camarilla the last 2 years!)

Below you will find my application, it will contain some hard info and my first and second year goals if I am re-elected to the position. Thank you to those who believe I can make this happen and know that I will see it through to the very best of my ability.

Olá novamente a todos! Meu nome é Matt Armitage e tenho a honra de ser seu Coordenador do Sabá nos últimos 2 anos de história da OWBN. Nesse período, muita coisa aconteceu e pretendo abordar a seguir, então, primeiro, vamos nos reapresentar com um pequeno compartilhamento da última inscrição nas eleições.

Estou na organização há cerca de 17 anos e adoro TTRPGs, LARP, TGCs e outras formas de jogos muito antes disso. Eu literalmente cresci na Org tanto quanto poderia ser considerado, e me tornei quem sou com a Org ao meu redor, tanto como uma ferramenta de medição quanto como um guia. As amizades que fiz aqui, as experiências que tive, foram uma parte enorme e fundamental da pessoa que me tornei. É por essas mesmas razões que quero continuar o papel de Coordenador do Sabá para que eu possa continuar a ajudar a orientar e moldar o Gênero Sabá daqui para frente pelos próximos 2 anos.

Eu amo o Sabbat, mais do que qualquer outro gênero no WoD, o Sabbat realmente fala comigo. O foco intenso no conflito interpessoal representado em matilhas ou em uma determinada cidade, a turbulência interna representada na moralidade e nos caminhos, e o sempre presente medo iminente com o qual alguém tem que lutar diante de saber que o fim dos tempos está próximo. É o melhor de alguns dos meus temas favoritos em jogos e terror. Acredito firmemente que o Sabá continuará a ser o carro-chefe dos jogos na OWBN e quero mantê-lo nesse padrão. (Mas tiro o chapéu para Michael e equipe por fazerem um trabalho incrível com a Camarilla nos últimos 2 anos!)

  • HST for Ohio Knights Sabbat: 2019-2023 Years (Pre-Pandemic, Pandemic, Post Pandemic.)
  • OKS Discord: 3 Year (Pandemic Era downtime/RP location for the Org)
  • AST for Columbus in Darkness: 6 Months (Stepped up to help Staff)
  • AST for Mountains Dark Heart: 6 Months (Helped progress the game between staffs)
  • Assamite Sub-Coordinator: 8 Months (Retired to pursue PC end story)
  • Malkavian Sub-Coordinator: 6 Years (Ongoing)
  • Manager Experience IRL: 4 Years
  • CSR Multiple Call Centers: 10 Years (I can help you reprogram your DVR Box)

  • AST para Mountains Dark Heart: 6 meses (ajudou no progresso do jogo entre equipes)
  • Subcoordenador Assamita: 8 meses (aposentado para prosseguir com a história final do PC)
  • Subcoordenador Malkaviano: 6 anos (em andamento)
  • Experiência de gerente IRL: 4 anos
  • CSR Múltiplos Call Centers: 10 anos (posso ajudá-lo a reprogramar sua caixa DVR)

Personal Statement:

The last two years of running the Sabbat Team has been a real rollercoaster of a ride. I learned so much in the position and I truly believe that the first two years have primed me for an even better next two years. There is a lot you learn in the position that consists of balancing things like transparency, mediation, moderation, and efficiency. While also trying to make sure you are delivering on people's expectations of NPC interaction, story progression, and event game participation.

In the last 2 years I feel we have had a number of amazing successes.

  1. The first Ecumenical Council Live Game since Covid. This game was a huge success and even now people tell me how much they enjoyed it, so much so we are very excited and planning to surpass those numbers for the next one happening in April.
  2. The conclusion of the Lhaka Plot. While controversial, we learned so much about doing global plots from this event. The actual Discord Debate led to some amazing character development, RP, and tension. It also taught me personally a lot about how to draw back the curtain on plots in a fashion that is both empowering and informative for players while not limiting the capabilities of the Staff trying to tell a good story.
  3. The creation of the Sabbat Faction Discord and the unification of the various Discord groups that existed previously. When I took over there were about 10 different Discord groups for Team Sabbat to watch over, and it had control of perhaps 3 of them. Under my tenure we managed to create 1 primary server for all the Sabbat Factions and OOC conversations, and maintained a private server for secretive groups such as The Black Hand, the Inquisition, The TMR, and the CoL.
  4. We consolidated Team Sabbat from a variety of loosely connected team members, to a higher functioning group sharing space and information much more freely. This has resulted in quicker turnaround times, aid to avoid burnout, and greater support from fantastic story tellers, STs, and other minds all working in collaboration.
  5. Update and Completion of the Status Packet. An essential portion of the Sabbat genre, we are still at work on the Faction Packet and Genre Packets I would like to see produced in the next tenure.

All of the above has done something these last 2 years that was lacking the previous years for a variety of reasons. Team Sabbat has been active, present, and quick to provide response and turn around to players, games, and beyond. It has also set us up for success in the next 2 years to come. While I am excited for the opportunity to be your Sabbat Coord again, I know that all the hard work above, will ensure that I or the next Coord will be in prime position to hit the ground running and experience success.

Personal Statement (Portuguese):

Os últimos dois anos comandando a Equipe Sabá foram uma verdadeira montanha-russa. Aprendi muito no cargo e realmente acredito que os primeiros dois anos me prepararam para dois anos ainda melhores. Você aprende muito na posição que consiste em equilibrar coisas como transparência, mediação, moderação e eficiência. Ao mesmo tempo, tenta garantir que você esteja atendendo às expectativas das pessoas em relação à interação com NPCs, progressão da história e participação em jogos de eventos.

Nos últimos 2 anos, sinto que tivemos vários sucessos surpreendentes.

  1. O primeiro jogo ao vivo do Conselho Ecumênico desde Covid. Este jogo foi um grande sucesso e até hoje as pessoas me dizem o quanto gostaram dele, tanto que estamos muito entusiasmados e planejando superar esses números no próximo que acontecerá em abril.
  2. A conclusão da Conspiração de Lhaka. Embora controverso, aprendemos muito sobre como fazer tramas globais com este evento. O verdadeiro debate do Discord levou a um incrível desenvolvimento de personagem, RP e tensão. Também me ensinou muito sobre como abrir a cortina dos enredos de uma forma que seja ao mesmo tempo fortalecedora e informativa para os jogadores, sem limitar as capacidades da equipe que tenta contar uma boa história.
  3. A criação da Facção Sabá Discord e a unificação dos vários grupos Discord que existiam anteriormente. Quando assumi, havia cerca de 10 grupos Discord diferentes para o Team Sabbat vigiar, e ele tinha o controle de talvez três deles. Durante minha gestão, conseguimos criar um servidor primário para todas as facções do Sabá e conversas OOC, e mantivemos um servidor privado para grupos secretos como a Mão Negra, a Inquisição, o TMR e o CoL.
  4. Consolidamos o Team Sabbat de uma variedade de membros de equipe pouco conectados, para um grupo de maior funcionamento, compartilhando espaço e informações com muito mais liberdade. Isto resultou em tempos de resposta mais rápidos, ajuda para evitar o esgotamento e maior apoio de contadores de histórias fantásticos, STs e outras mentes, todos trabalhando em colaboração.
  5. Atualização e Conclusão do Pacote de Status. Uma parte essencial do gênero Sabá, ainda estamos trabalhando no Pacote de Facção e nos Pacotes de Gênero que gostaria de ver produzidos no próximo mandato.

Todos os itens acima fizeram algo nos últimos 2 anos que faltou nos anos anteriores por vários motivos. A Equipe Sabbat tem sido ativa, presente e rápida em fornecer respostas e respostas aos jogadores, jogos e muito mais. Também nos preparou para o sucesso nos próximos 2 anos. Embora esteja animado com a oportunidade de ser seu Coordenador do Sabá novamente, sei que todo o trabalho árduo acima garantirá que eu ou o próximo Coordenador estaremos em uma posição privilegiada para começar a trabalhar e ter sucesso.

Goals:

Below is my outline for year 1 and year 2 of my tenure and then a summation of my goals to close us out with.

On the topic of teammates: I will be open to hearing conversations about problematic people if they indeed end up on my Team, and I will use my position to address realistic concerns and troubles and work closely with the new Exec team to ensure that such things are investigated fully.

Tenure Year 1

  1. The success of Ecumenical Council 2024, and the ensuing process of passing the ratified changes from the consistory by Council.
  2. Team Updates, we have had some Team Sabbat members leave the fold, and others want to join up. So with the new Tenure will come and out with the old and in with the new process to ensure Team Sabbat is staffed by able, willing, and excited members of the Org.
  3. Packets. All the Packets. Our entire mission for 2024 will be packets and maintenance. We have to update the Status Packet with the last 2 years changes, and finish the Faction and Genre packets, then get them propped, passed, and posted.
  4. We have several Coord Level plots we want to run and we want to get as many games engaged in them as possible. We will be looking to intersperse them while we work on other tasks.
  5. Work to reestablish a Brazil/Portuguese group within Team Sabbat to help us better relate to, keep informed, and address the needs of our Org Family below the US border!

Tenure Year 2

  1. Continue to evaluate the members of Team Sabbat to ensure everyone is in good health and shape to keep working.
  2. Run another amazing EC
  3. Ensure packets stay clean and up to date and work to ensure information is easy to access and distributed to the player base within Bylaws
  4. Conclude any Plots from the previous year, or work to see them concluded within the year.
  5. Poll ST’s and other Coords for what Team Sabbat can do to do more for their games and their genres and push to see that done.

Summation/Votes of confidence:
Well that’s it! One heck of a read but I really hope it was worth it for you to take the time to get here. I have so many high hopes for Team Sabbat and what we can accomplish in our second tenure together. But know that I am also rooting for anyone who puts their name in the hat for the position.

I intend to stay on as a Legacy Coord if they will have me, and continue to do my best to help out. But secretly? I do want to win. I know we can do so much, and I want to make sure we get there. Remember-

Goals (Portuguese):

Abaixo está meu esboço para o ano 1 e o ano 2 de minha gestão e, em seguida, um resumo de minhas metas para encerrar.

Sobre o tema dos colegas de equipe: estarei aberto a ouvir conversas sobre pessoas problemáticas se elas realmente acabarem na minha equipe, e usarei minha posição para abordar preocupações e problemas realistas e trabalhar em estreita colaboração com a nova equipe executiva para garantir que tais coisas são investigados integralmente.

Mandato Ano 1

  1. O sucesso do Concílio Ecuménico de 2024 e o subsequente processo de aprovação das alterações ratificadas do consistório pelo Conselho.
  2. Atualizações da equipe, alguns membros da equipe Sabbat deixaram o grupo e outros querem se juntar. Assim, com o novo mandato, o antigo e o novo processo entrarão, para garantir que a Equipe Sabá seja composta por membros capazes, dispostos e entusiasmados da Organização.
  3. Pacotes. Todos os pacotes. Toda a nossa missão para 2024 será pacotes e manutenção. Temos que atualizar o Pacote de Status com as mudanças dos últimos 2 anos, finalizar os pacotes de Facção e Gênero e, em seguida, apoiá-los, aprová-los e publicá-los.
  4. Temos vários gráficos de nível de coordenação que queremos executar e queremos envolver o maior número possível de jogos neles. Procuraremos intercalá-los enquanto trabalhamos em outras tarefas.
  5. Trabalhe para restabelecer um grupo Brasil/Português dentro do Team Sabbat para nos ajudar a nos relacionar melhor, nos manter informados e atender às necessidades de nossa Família Org abaixo da fronteira dos EUA!

Mandato Ano 2

  1. Continue avaliando os membros da Equipe Sabbat para garantir que todos estejam com boa saúde e em forma para continuar trabalhando.
  2. Execute outro EC incrível
  3. Garantir que os pacotes permaneçam limpos e atualizados e funcionem para garantir que as informações sejam fáceis de acessar e distribuídas para a base de jogadores dentro do Estatuto.
  4. Concluir quaisquer Parcelas do ano anterior, ou trabalhar para vê-las concluídas dentro do ano.
  5. Pesquise ST e outros Coords sobre o que o Team Sabbat pode fazer para fazer mais por seus jogos e gêneros e pressione para que isso seja feito.
