2022 - Followers of Set - Michael Flickinger
Introduction and Background:
Hello,
My name is Michael Flickinger and I am running for the Follower of Set Coord position! I have been playing OWBN probably around 10 years ago (give or take a year). To give a brief histroy about myself, I graduated college in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a Bachelor of Arts in Game Design. I have helped work on several Call of Duty video games (CoD: MWR, CoD: IW, CoD: WW2, and Call of Duty Online) as well as on the Madden franchise. In these professional positions, I work closely with the design team on these. In terms of gameplay balance, are they fun, and what is overall working well / should be fixed. I have also worked for about 1 year as Tech support in a call center (finance industry) before being promoted as a Full Stack App Developer in that same company. In OWBN I have been a Hunter Subcoord for almost 1 year, and I have been Hunter Coord for almost 2 years. I have ran / help run many OWBN games including Changeling and Hunter. I have been playing in the Setite genre specifically for a little over 7-8 years. I also run several DnD games and participate / ran multiple DnD West Marches. I also want to mention that I have lived all over the United States, from CT to WI to Florida (where I currently am now). As well as that I am extremely excited about the oppotunity to run for the Follower of Set coord position. Unlike the last special election, I do not plan on running on running for the Hunter Coord position so that there will be no conflict of interests / conflicts in general.

Meu nome é Michael Flickinger e estou concorrendo à posição de Seguidor do Set Coord! Eu tenho jogado OWBN provavelmente cerca de 10 anos atrás (mais ou menos um ano). Para dar uma breve história sobre mim, me formei na faculdade em 2015 com um Bacharelado em História e um Bacharelado em Design de Jogos. Ajudei a trabalhar em vários videogames de Call of Duty (CoD: MWR, CoD: IW, CoD: WW2 e Call of Duty Online), bem como na franquia Madden. Nessas posições profissionais, trabalho em estreita colaboração com a equipe de design. Em termos de equilíbrio de jogabilidade, eles são divertidos e o que está funcionando bem / deve ser corrigido. Também trabalhei por cerca de 1 ano como suporte técnico em um call center (indústria financeira) antes de ser promovido como Full Stack App Developer nessa mesma empresa. Na OWBN sou Hunter Subcoord há quase 1 ano, e sou Hunter Coord há quase 2 anos. Eu executei / ajudei a executar muitos jogos OWBN, incluindo Changeling e Hunter. Eu tenho jogado no gênero Setita especificamente por um pouco mais de 7-8 anos. Também corro vários jogos de DnD e participo / corri várias marchas de DnD West. Também quero mencionar que morei em todos os Estados Unidos, de CT a WI até a Flórida (onde estou atualmente). Além disso, estou extremamente empolgado com a oportunidade de concorrer à posição de coord Seguidor de Set. Administrative Experience:
For my OWBN Administrative I have helped out as a Hunter subcoord for around a year. I have worked as Hunter Coord for about 2 years now releasing several updated packets as well as creating and running a Hunter national plot and resolving the current Hunter national plot that was going on (big shout out to Heather for all the work she did helping with this / from the Nos side). I have also helped run, or ran, multiple OWBN games. While working in the video game industry, I had tons of Administrative experience. Often I was working with several different studios, many times they were in different parts of the country and even the world. At my current job I also help mentor / lead a team which involves a lot of administrative duties as well. Finally, when working as a Help Desk IT it also requires a lot of admin experience. A mixture of answering phones, speaking with clients, answering emails in a time sensative manner, clerical work (specifically maintaining records and entering data), as well as dealing with sensitive data.

Para o meu administrativo da OWBN, ajudei como subcoord Hunter por cerca de um ano. Eu tenho trabalhado como Hunter Coord por cerca de 2 anos, agora lançando vários pacotes atualizados, bem como criando e executando uma trama nacional de Hunter e resolvendo a atual trama nacional de Hunter que estava acontecendo (um grande abraço a Heather por todo o trabalho que ela fez ajudando com este / do lado Nos). Eu também ajudei a executar, ou executei, vários jogos OWBN. Enquanto trabalhava na indústria de videogames, tive muita experiência administrativa. Uma mistura de atender telefones, falar com clientes, responder e-mails de maneira sensível ao tempo, trabalho administrativo (especificamente manter registros e inserir dados), além de lidar com dados confidenciais.
Personal Statement:
So I started playing OWBN probably around 10 years ago (give or take a year). I immediately grew to love the organization. The shared stories among a diverse player base, the ability to play with people across the world, the ability for anyone to get involved with the stories, and the aspect of all the different games belonging to a shared universe. I have been a part of the Follower of Set genre since at least 2015, if not earlier. I have been through the ups and downs of the genre and have contoniued to stick through it. My intention, if elected, is to help promote and make the Follower of Set genre as great as it used to be, as great as it could be. If elected, as the Follower of Set Coord, I would like to work with ST's, Players, and Coordinators to help promote this. From promoting / increasing the genre, helping inform STs about the genre, figuring out what is needed for existing players, as well as what would be needed or can be done to help encourage newer players. I also believe that if elected as the Follower of Set Coord, it would be my responsibility to not only tell stories for the genre, but also provide storytelling tools to the STs of OWBN. From a mixture of packets informing about the Setite genre, how Setites could be used in games without harming the overall genre, etc. I also want to make sure that the storytelling tools I do provide to the ST's are ones that they have requested / ones they find useful. I will make sure that when I provide these tools that I will also help showcase how they can be used / benefit those STs.

Então eu comecei a jogar OWBN provavelmente cerca de 10 anos atrás (mais ou menos um ano). Imediatamente passei a amar a organização. As histórias compartilhadas entre uma base de jogadores diversificada, a capacidade de jogar com pessoas de todo o mundo, a capacidade de qualquer pessoa se envolver com as histórias e o aspecto de todos os diferentes jogos pertencentes a um universo compartilhado. Eu faço parte do gênero Follower of Set desde pelo menos 2015, se não antes. Já passei pelos altos e baixos do gênero e me contornei para continuar com ele. Minha intenção, se eleita, é ajudar a promover e tornar o gênero Follower of Set tão bom quanto costumava ser, tão bom quanto poderia ser. Se eleito, como Seguidor do Set Coord, gostaria de trabalhar com ST's, Jogadores e Coordenadores para ajudar a promover isso. Desde promover/aumentar o gênero, ajudar a informar STs sobre o gênero, descobrir o que é necessário para os jogadores existentes, bem como o que seria necessário ou pode ser feito para ajudar a incentivar os jogadores mais novos. Acredito também que se eleito como o Seguidor do Set Coord, seria minha responsabilidade não apenas contar histórias para o gênero, mas também fornecer ferramentas de storytelling para os STs da OWBN. A partir de uma mistura de pacotes informando sobre o gênero Setita, como os Setitas podem ser usados em jogos sem prejudicar o gênero em geral, etc. acham útil. Goals:
Here are my following goals, which I hope my term as Hunter Coord has showcase I plan to meet if not exceed:
- 72 hour response time
- Establish a team of Sub-coordinators who have no in-character investments related to their duties within 1 month of election
- Develop, propose and revise a Follower of Set genre packet, and a Setite Sorcerery packet within 3 months of the election.
- Develop, propose and revie a Serpent of the Light and Child of Damballah packet within 6 months of the election.
- Progression of the Follower of Set genre to allow for many issues that are currently seen to be fixed.
- Global plot to help with the preivous plot point.
- Help promote player cults and increased cult identity.
- Create / establish genre expectations and enforcement which allow for growth and roleplay.
- Promoting inclusion within the genre: Making sure all regions (including those outside the United States) are treated fairly / players in those regions have the same opportunities as any other region.

Aqui estão meus objetivos a seguir, que espero que meu mandato como Hunter Coord tenha uma vitrine que pretendo cumprir, se não exceder:
- Tempo de resposta de 72 horas
- Estabelecer uma equipe de Subcoordenadores que não tenham investimentos em personagens relacionados às suas funções dentro de 1 mês da eleição
- Desenvolva, proponha e revise um pacote de gênero Seguidor de Set e um pacote de Feitiçaria Setita dentro de 3 meses da eleição.
- Desenvolva, proponha e revise um pacote Serpente da Luz e Filho de Damballah dentro de 6 meses da eleição.
- Progressão do gênero Seguidor do Conjunto para permitir que muitos problemas que são vistos atualmente sejam corrigidos.
- Plotagem global para ajudar com o ponto de plotagem anterior.
- Ajude a promover cultos de jogadores e aumentar a identidade do culto.
- Crie / estabeleça expectativas e aplicação de gênero que permitam o crescimento e a interpretação.
- Promovendo a inclusão dentro do gênero: Garantir que todas as regiões (incluindo aquelas fora dos Estados Unidos) sejam tratadas de forma justa / os jogadores dessas regiões tenham as mesmas oportunidades que qualquer outra região.
