[PROPOSAL][AMENDMENT] One World by Night Code of Ethics and Conduct

Greetings Council,

Below is the FINAL amendment to the amended document. 

 

The proposal to council is listed at the top within the document and not intended to be part of the CoC should it pass and not be published to our site (Hoping that part is obvious :) ).

 

Text for the CoC's expectations has been added under the Code of Conduct. Grammar has been smoothed out. Modifications to Sexual Harassment revised to assure all matters reported will be investigated

 

Attempting this as General Consensus/ Autopass after all these proposed amendments.

Greetings One World by Night, 

 

I, Nicholas Lambaunas, Head Coordinator of One World by Night (OWbN) propose the following Code of Conduct for Council’s approval. Please share this with as many OWbN participants as possible for their feedback. 

 

This Code of Conduct (COC) will work in tandem with the preexisting OWbN Code of Conduct for Council, Storyteller, and Coordinator List-servers, as well as serve as our entire organization’s CoC. 

 

Should this CoC pass, it will be grouped with the Character Bylaws, Coordinator Bylaws, Administrative Bylaws, and titled as “Code of Conduct” (minus the quotation marks). 

 

OWbN has existed for over 20 years without a Code of Conduct, but past experience has shown that not having these sorts of guidelines can lead to confusion about what is and is not acceptable behavior. It is vital that One World by Night has standards to which all our members, players and volunteers alike, can be held, in order for the organization to continue to grow as a community. I ask this be viewed and acknowledged as another progressive step into developing a community conducive to role playing and managing the wide varieties of our personalities that share the same space.
