I, Jessica Karels, as Head Coordinator for One World By Night, bring forth this proposal to create a Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC). Should Council approve for the creation of this position, we will immediately have a Special Election to fill that role.

The first vote (this current proposal/ballot) will determine whether or not we create a Community Engagement Coordinator position.

[IF THIS PROPOSAL PASSES]
Should the first vote pass, and Council will immediately move into a vote about how the Community Engagement Coordinator will be selected (Elected or Appointed). For this conditional proposal, Council will vote on the following two options (Abstain option still available), and that vote will last for seven days:

[Conditional Follow-up Proposal - Option A: CEC as an Appointed Position]
If Council votes to have the CEC as an appointed position, the following will be added to the Coordinator Bylaws

2.A. (Appointed Coordinator Positions)
x. Community Engagement Coordinator
3. A. (Administrative Duties - Administrative Coordinators)
ix. Community Engagement Coordinator
  1. Duties for the Community Engagement Coordinator shall be:
    a. Act as an administrator for OWBN's social media presence
    b. Work with the Executive Team in moderating OWBN-wide communication channels
    c. Work in partnership with the Web Coordinator to curate information about the OWBN community on the website
    d. Work in partnership with the Admissions Coordinator to support new member games and participants
    e. Develop and oversee player and volunteer mentorship programs
    f. Maintain records of official chronicle and coordinator communication groups (email and social media)

  2. They may delegate any of the above powers to one or more Sub-Coordinators, who they will hold responsibility over.
    a. The appointed Coordinator, or the Head Coordinator, may remove or replace these Sub-Coordinators at will. Council may remove these Sub-Coordinators with a majority vote.
    b. The appointed Coordinator is responsible for all disputed issues that are brought before Council involving any authority delegated to their Sub-Coordinators

[Conditional Follow-up Proposal - Option B: CEC as an Elected Position]
If Council votes to have the CEC as an elected position, the following will be added to the Coordinator Bylaws

1.A. (Elected Coordinator Positions - Administrative)
iv.

  2. They may delegate any of the above powers to one or more Sub-Coordinators, who they will hold responsibility over.
    a. They may remove these Sub-Coordinators at will, and Council may remove these Sub-Coordinators with a majority vote.
    b. The elected Coordinator is responsible for all disputed issues that are brought before Council involving any authority delegated to their Sub-Coordinators

In addition, should Council approve the creation of the Community Engagement Coordinator role (either appointed or elected) and should the proposal to remove the code of conduct on administrative lists (http://www.owbn.net/votes/83625) fail, this proposal includes the following amendments to Administrative Bylaw 9.
  1. If you are determined to be acting in violation, simply apologize and amend your behavior(s). The Community Engagement Coordinator, or their designated subcoord, will determine if you are in violation of the Code of Conduct.
  2. If you persist in the behavior(s) after being warned to stop, you will be placed on moderation for up to one week. Moderated posts will be screened by the Community Engagement Coordinator for continued violations before being shared.
