2020 - Camarilla - Michael Woodin
Introduction and Background:
My name is Mike Woodin and I am running for Camarilla Coordinator for 2020. My playing experience dates back to 1997, joining One World by Night in 1998. I have enjoyed being part of this community for over 20 years and am hoping to give something back to an organization that has given me a great deal by taking on a bigger role in its administration.
I’ve played mostly in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic arenas, but have ventured out to the Midwest a few times. I have attended several NonClave and Glitter & Gloom events and Midwinter and Grand Elysium less frequently. The vast majority of my characters have been Camarilla, and I can say that it is by far my favorite of the Vampire genres. I have played characters spanning nearly all available aspects of the sect and rungs on the political ladder, from a neonate under the Accounting to an experienced Archon.
During my tenure as HST of Westchester by Night, I enjoyed working with players to craft stories and plots for their characters. This, along with the administrative aspects of creating a chronicle that these characters could flourish in, were some of my favorite parts of the job. I believe that I can bring this same enthusiasm and dedication to the position of Camarilla Coordinator.

Meu nome é Mike Woodin e eu estou concorrendo para o Coordenador Camarilla para 2018. Minha experiência de jogo remonta a 1997, juntando-se à Org como um todo provavelmente por volta de 1998-1999. Eu joguei principalmente na região Northeast e do Mid-Atlantic, mas me arrisquei para o Midwest algumas vezes. Eu fui em vários NonClaves e Glitter & Glooms, bem como Midwinter e Grand Elysiums, com menos frequência.. Personal Statement:
I have played in Camarilla games for as long as I have been participating in this hobby. As stated previously, it is what I find most enjoyable. As my favorite genre, there are areas in which I would like to see it improve. While there have been strides in recent years to see growth within the Camarilla setting, I believe there is still more that can be done. My experience, both as a player and as a SubCoord, have shown me the shared passion and dedication that many players, storytellers and coordinator staffs across OWBN have for this genre and how we all wish to see it prosper. Should I be elected, I look forward to working with them in the continuing effort to see the Camarilla flourish and evolve.

Eu joguei em jogos Camarilla durante todo o tempo em que estive na Org. Como disse antes, é o gênero que mais gosto. Sendo meu gênero favorito, existem áreas as quais eu gostaria de ver melhor. Embora tenha havido progressos nos últimos anos, não quer dizer que não possa melhorar. Na minha experiência, tanto como jogador como Subcoord, me mostrou a dedicação e paixão que muitos jogadores, STs e times de Coordenadores em todo o OWBN possuem por este gênero, e o quanto desejamos ver ele prosperar. Caso eu seja eleito, buscarei trabalhar com todos estes no esforço continuo de ver a Camarilla vicejar e evoluir.
Goals:
- Response Time: Ideally, it is my goal to respond to requests, inquiries and messages within a 24-hour period with no more than 72-hours response time from the staff. Faster response times can lead to faster resolutions.
- Factions/Societies: I would like to further expand upon the various secret societies and factions that have been established. I would like to see these societies better defined and to have more substance. When these were introduced, there was a great deal of enthusiasm around them, and I very much want to see them become more useful and fully utilized aspects of the genre. I would like to work with games and other Coordinators to make them into something unique and fun for players to be involved with The Faction packet, itself, is one area that I want to clean up and make easier to reference for what makes each faction unique and what support they can rely upon.
- Conclaves: The way OWBN handles and runs Conclaves has never been codified in any way. There are subtle, yet important differences in the way we handle them when compared to their canon counterparts. I would like to have them added to the Genre Packet so that we can achieve more uniformity in their administration. The process of determining when and where Conclaves should be held is an area I would like to improve upon, as well as smoothing out the voting process.
- Justicars: Camarilla Law and Order is a confusing and sometimes contradictory thing. It has been noted that the holders of these positions should be more interested in supporting the Camarilla than the goals of their individual clans. With that in mind, I would like to take a more active role in the agendas and motivations of these NPCs. This isn’t to say that they shouldn’t be involved in what their clans are trying to achieve, but that they should be primarily working towards elevating the Camarilla while ensuring that members of their clan are taken care of and their clan’s agendas are supported. I plan on reaching out to the individual Clan Coordinators and working with them to get a better idea of their goals and draw out a plan for the course of this term.
- Status/Prestation: The Camarilla system of favors and standing is often one of the most confusing, particularly for those trying to learn the genre. The addition of the Harridan and the Furies has both helped and complicated this system. By reviewing and revising the current Status Packet, I would like to improve upon what we have built and develop a way for the system to be easily understood and utilized for new and experienced players alike.
Goals (Portuguese):
- Tempo de Resposta: idealmente, minha meta é responder à solicitações, perguntas e mensagens num período de 24-horas, com no máximo 72 horas de tempo de resposta por parte do time. Respostas mais rápidas levam à resoluções mais rápidas.
- Facções e Sociedades: eu gostaria de expandir as várias sociedades secretas e facções que já foram estabelecidas. Eu gostaria de ver estas sociedades melhor definidas e com mais substância. Quando as mesmas foram introduzidas, houve um grande entusiasmo em relação ás mesmas, e eu gostaria muito de vê-las se tornarem mais uteis e aspectos do gênero utilizados ao máximo. Eu gostaria de trabalhar com as crônicas e outros Coordenadores, para torna-las algo único e divertido para os jogadores. O packet de Facções é algo que eu gostaria de tornar mais claro, e mais fácil de se identificar o que realmente faz cada Facção e com que tipo de suporte as mesmas podem contar.
- Conclaves: a forma como o OWBN lida com Conclaves nunca foi codificada de alguma forma. Existem diferenças sutis, embora importantes, no jeito em que temos lidado com os Conclaves em comparação com assuas contrapartes nos livros cânone. Eu gostaria de vê-los adicionados ao Packet, de forma que possamos conseguir uma maior uniformidade nos mesmos. O processo de determinar quando e onde um Conclave deveria ocorrer é uma parte que eu gostaria de melhorar, bem como tornar mais tranquilo o processo de votação.
- Justicares: As Leis e Costumes da Camarilla são confusas, e às vezes contraditórias. Tem sido apontado que os detentores de tais posições deveriam termais interesse em apoiar a Camarilla que os interesses de seus Clãs individuais. Com isso em mente, eu gostaria de assumir um papel mais ativo nas agendas e motivações destes NPCs. Isto não quer dizer que eles não possam estar envolvidos com seus respectivos clãs e seus interesses, mas sim que eles deveriam primariamente trabalhar em prol da Camarilla, ao mesmo tempo que asseram que os membros de seus Clãs tenham apoio e as agendas do Clã também. Eu planejo entrar em contato com cada Coordenador de Clã e trabalhar com eles para ter uma ideia melhor de seus objetivos e traçar um plano conjunto para este mandato.
- Status/Prestação: o Sistema de Favores e Status da Camarilla é muitas vezes, o aspecto mais confuso, principalmente para aqueles que estão tentando aprender o gênero. A adição do Harridan e das Fúrias ajudou e complicou simultaneamente este sistema. Eu gostaria de rever e revisar o atual Packet de Status, para melhorar o que já fizemos e desenvolver um meio para que o sistema seja mais facilmente compreendido e utilizado tanto por jogadores novos e jogadores experientes.
