Introduction and Background:

My educational background is diverse.  I have several certifications in marketing related fields from Advanced Analytics to Social Media Inbound Strategies.  The world of marketing changes very quickly in our digital age and requires constant upkeep on one’s knowledge.  I am always following instruction, reading new books and enrolling in classes.  I enjoy the challenge of learning material as it becomes available.

I have served as the marketing coord for one term year.  During that time I have begun many new projects and have plans for many more (which I’ll talk more about in the ‘goals’ section).

 

Administrative Experience:

I have been Marking Coordinator for this previous one year term.  Additionally I am Head Storyteller of Pander’s Playground.  I am a Sub Coord for Team Sabbat (Cult of Lillith, Occult Underground, Loyalists, Moderates), Brujah Anit, and Ravnos Anti.  Outside of One World by Night I have run mentor groups for other RPGs, and handled social media for them as well.  As part of my time in other RPGs I was an event planner and organizer, as well as designer to a small degree.   I do small business marketing for several local businesses in my area, including a business of my own with my husband.  All of these things require organization and dedication.

 

Personal Statement:

I have been a member of OWbN for approximately 22 years.  I began playing in my home game Shadows of Cincinnati just before the formation of the Org.  Like much of our in-game history is hotly debated, so is our out of game history, so for accuracy sake we can boast as one of the first 5 games to join.  I have taken breaks periodically during my 22 years.  I have 4 children from 11 to 20.  I currently have 5 cats and countless strays.  If you learn nothing about me from this application, take away that I am a crazy cat lady.  More to the point, I am able to raise children and care for countless cats because I am able to organize and plan.  It’s my sole talent.  Marketing requires the ability to organize and plan more than any other skill.  Having been with the Org since the beginning, I have come to love it very much.  The success of this organization is extremely important to me.  I want to see us get back to our roots with all the fervor and passion we once had. 

 

Goals:

As I stated previously in my personal statement, I have one core value that I follow in all my decision making as marketing coordinator.  Will this make the game more fun and instill fervor in our player base?  If the answer to that question is no, then the idea is scrapped and I move on.  Every single decision I make is based around that one core rule.  My primary goal will always be to bring fun and joy to our players and staff.  Above all else this is a game and we’re here to have fun.

Some items I would like to accomplish;

  • Creating more Passports and getting them to entire player base.
  • Getting OWbN logo gear to as many players as possible.
  • Finding more ways to make the Marketing Team financially self-supporting.
  • More paid ads on various social media.
  • More guides and personal help for Storytellers wishing to advertise locally for their own chronicles.
  • Support and guides for STs wanting to host events.
  • Continue our social media networking and build on the base we already have.
  • Increase our visibility on the web through organic searches.
  • Create an appealing landing page for potential new players who visit our site.
  • Continue the Newsletter, with more content.
  • Outreach with players to have guest writers and content donations.
  • Put more resources toward charity projects.

I have a few other more ambitious goals, but I don’t want to count my proverbial chickens.
