2018 - Camarilla - Michael Woodin
Introduction and Background:
My name is Mike Woodin and I am running for Camarilla Coordinator for 2018. My playing experience dates back to 1997, joining One World by Night in 1998-1999. I’ve played mostly in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic arenas, but have ventured out to the Midwest a few times. I have attended several NonClave and Glitter & Gloom events and Midwinter and Grand Elysium less frequently. The vast majority of my characters have been Camarilla, and I can say that it is by far my favorite of the Vampire genres. I have played characters spanning nearly all available aspects of the sect and rungs on the political ladder, from a neonate under the Accounting to an experienced Archon.
During my tenure as HST of Westchester by Night, I enjoyed working with players to craft stories and plots for their characters. This, along with the administrative aspects of creating a chronicle that these characters could flourish in, were some of my favorite parts of the job. I believe that I can bring this same enthusiasm and dedication to the position of Camarilla Coordinator.

Meu nome é Mike Woodin e eu estou concorrendo para o Coordenador Camarilla para 2018. Minha experiência de jogo remonta a 1997, juntando-se à Org como um todo provavelmente por volta de 1998-1999. Eu joguei principalmente na região Northeast e do Mid-Atlantic, mas me arrisquei para o Midwest algumas vezes. Eu fui em vários NonClaves e Glitter & Glooms, bem como Midwinter e Grand Elysiums, com menos frequência.. No que diz respeito aos personagens, a grande maioria deles foram da Camarlla, e posso dizer que é de longe o meu gênero favorito em Vampiro. Durante minha posse como a cabeça do pessoalde Westchester na noite, eu apreciei trabalharcom jogadores para esboçar histórias e lotespara seus caráteres. Personal Statement:
I have played in Camarilla games for as long as I have been playing. As stated previously, it is what I find most enjoyable. Even though it’s my favorite genre, there are areas in which I would like to see it improve. Despite strides in recent years it can continue to grow. While my time on the staff of the current Cam Coord has been brief, I have seen the dedication to the genre demonstrated by the players, storyteller and coordinator staffs across OWBN and how they wish to see it prosper. Should I be elected I look forward to leading them in the continuing effort to see Camarilla genre flourish.
Personal Statement (Portuguese):
Eu joguei em jogos Camarilla durante todo o tempo em que estive jogando. Como dito anteriormente, é o que eu acho mais agradável. Dito isto, isso não significa que o gênero não possa sempre melhorar. Ele fez progressos nos últimos anos, mas pode continuar a crescer. Enquanto meu tempo na equipe do atual Cam Coord foi breve, eu vi o quão dedicado são os jogadores e equipes por toda a organização a tocar este gênero e vê-lo prosperar. Estou ansioso, se for eleito, para continuar a ajudá-los a fazê-lo.
Goals:

Response Time: Ideally, it is my goal to respond to requests, inquiries and messages within a 24 hour period with no more than 3 days response time from the staff. Faster response times can lead to faster resolutions.

Factions/Societies: I would like to further expand upon the various secret societies and factions that have been established. I would like to see these societies better defined and to have more substance. I would like to work with games and other Coordinators to make them into something unique and fun for players to be involved with.

Conclaves: The way OWBN handles and runs Conclaves has never been codified in any way. There are subtle, yet important differences in the way we handle them when compared to their canon counterparts. I would like to have them added to the Genre Packet so that we can achieve more uniformity in their administration.

Archons: With the arrival of the various factions and societies, Archons have new roles and prospects. I’ve observed that there is confusion among both Archon players and those who interact with them about their roles. I would like to more clearly identify the differences between Archons and those with these positions in Societies and how they relate to one another. I believe that clearly defining the jurisdictions of each will be a good way of beginning to tackle this issue.

Justicars: Camarilla Law and Order is a confusing and sometimes contradictory thing. It has been noted that the holders of these positions should be more interested in supporting the Camarilla than the goals of their individual clans. With that in mind, I would like to take a more active role in the agendas and motivations of these NPCs. This isn’t to say that they shouldn’t be involved in what their clans are trying to achieve, but that they should be working towards elevating the Camarilla while ensuring that members of their clan are taken care of and their clan’s agendas are supported. I plan on reaching out to the individual Clan Coordinators and working with them to get a better idea of their goals and draw out a plan for the course of this term.
Goals (Portuguese):
- Tempo de Resposta: Idealmente, é meu objetivo responder a perguntas, duvidas e mensagens dentro de um período de 24 horas com tempo de resposta não superior a 3 dias da minha equipe. Respostas mais rápidas podem levar a soluções mais rápidas.
- Facções/Sociedades: Eu gostaria de expandir ainda mais as várias sociedades secretas e facções que foram estabelecidas. Gostaria de velas melhor definidas e com mais substancia, e de trabalhar com as crônicas e os outros Coordenadores para torna-las algo único e divertido para os jogadores se envolver.
- Conclaves: A forma como a org lida com e executa Conclaves nunca foi codificado de forma alguma. Existem diferenças sutis, porém importantes, na forma como as lidamos com eles comparadas com as suas contrapartes descritas no cânon da White Wolf. Eu gostaria de ter isso adicionado ao packet Camarilla para que possamos alcançar mais uniformidade na forma em que são tratados
- Arcontes: Com a chegada das várias facções e sociedades, arcontes têm novos papeis e perspectivas. Tenho observado que existe certa confusão tanto por parte dos jogadores de arcontes quanto daqueles que interagem com eles sobre seus papeis. Eu gostaria de esclarecer as diferenças entre arcontes e as outras posições nas sociedades, e como elas se relacionam. Creio que definir claramente a jurisdição de cada uma será um bom jeito de começar a abordar esta questão.
- Justicars: Lei e Ordem da Camarilla é uma coisa confusa e às vezes contraditória. Note-se que os detentores dessas posições devem estar mais interessados em promover a Camarilla do que os objetivos de seus clãs individuais. Com isso em mente, eu gostaria de assumir um papel mais ativo nas agendas e motivações desses NPCs. Isso não quer dizer que eles não deveriam estar envolvidos no que seus clãs estão tentando alcançar, mas que eles deveriam estar trabalhando para elevar a Camarilla como um todo, enquanto se asseguram que os membros de seus respectivos Clãs são cuidados e as agendas do clã apoiadas. Eu planejo entrar em contato com os coordenadores de clãs individuais e trabalhar com eles para ter uma melhor ideia de seus objetivos e elaborar um plano para este objeto ao longo do mandato.
