Introduction and Background:

Greetings! My name is Chad Halvorson, and I am running again for Toreador Coordinator. I started in OWbN just over a decade ago. On the advice of a friend, I stopped by the Obsidian Towers game in Saint Paul to see what this “larp” thing was all about. I created my first PC, Jordan Restax, and played him for the majority of that decade in the org. Through that time, I have met numerous amazing people and made some good friends. I have been fortunate enough to play in games throughout the country - from Florida to Virginia, and from Canada to California. It was an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding experience, and that time gave me a deep appreciation for the clan and the complexities of being a Toreador.

Saudações! Meu nome é Chad Halvorson, e eu estou correndo novamente por Coordenador Toreador. Comecei no OWbN há pouco mais de uma década atrás. Seguindo o conselho de um amigo eu parei no jogo Obsidian Towers em Saint Paul para ver do que esse tal "larp" tratava. Eu criei o meu primeiro PC, Jordan Restax, e joguei com ele pela maior parte da década na org. Através desse tempo eu conheci muitas pessoas maravilhosas e fiz alguns bons amigos. Eu tenho a sorte de jogar em crônicas em todo o país - da Flórida à Virginia e do Canadá até a Califórnia. Foi uma experiência extremamente agradável e gratificante, e que o tempo deu-me uma apreciação profunda sobre o clã e as complexidades de ser um Toreador.

 

Administrative Experience:

Over the course of my time in OWbN I have served in a wide number of roles. I have been an ST in both the Obsidian Towers and the Within Shadow’s Reach chronicles on multiple occasions. In that role, I have run games and been responsible for event games in both of those chronicles. I have also served as CM for those chronicles, so am well aware of the nature of being on Council. On an org-wide level, I have been Lasombra Coordinator in the past. I have also been a sub-coordinator for Assamite, Lasombra, Ravnos, and Toreador. I have served as Toreador Coordinator for several years. In each of these roles, I have grown in experience and skill with the organization.

Administrative Experience (Portuguese):

Ao longo do meu tempo no OWbN tenho servido em uma ampla série de papéis. Tenho sido um ST em ambas as crônicas em múltiplas ocasiões: Obsidian Towers e Within Shadow’s Reach. Nesse papel, eu fiz o jogo caminhar e fui responsável por jogos de evento em ambas as crônicas. Eu também servi como CM para essas crônicas, então estou bem ciente da natureza de estar no Council. Personal Statement:

As Toreador Coordinator, I would like to continue to work with players and STs to determine what is needed to encourage existing Toreador players and to draw new players to the clan. The goal is to provide direction and support to strengthen the clan. Over the past few years I have watched Toreador players step up. The clan continues to be strongly player directed, and my goal is to  continue to support Toreador players in telling their stories.

Como Coordenador Toreador eu  gostaria de continuar a trabalhar com os jogadores e ST para determinar o que é necessário para incentivar os jogadores Toreador existentes e atrair novos jogadores para o clã. O objetivo é fornecer orientação e apoio para reforçar o clã. Ao longo dos últimos anos, observei jogadores Toreador acelerarem. O clã continua a ser fortemente jogador dirigido por jogadores, e meu objetivo é continuar a apoiar os jogadores Toreador em contar suas histórias.

Goals:

Outline of Goals:

•                   Continue to promote regional NPCS & mentors for Toreador players. (Side note: This clan has some of the best PC mentors around – less need for NPCs!)

•                   Continue to support the Guild in both North America and Brazil. This includes allowing for player driven plot to change the Guild (or attempt to eliminate it!)

•                   Continue a system by which PCs can interact with the office of the Justicar, and the Guild that maintains genre while encourages both role play and player driven productivity.

 

General:

•                   To create an environment wherein the Toreador PCs can thrive.

•                   To create a system by where Toreador PCs can contact various levels of mentorship, from the chronicle level on up.

 

 

Detailed Goals:

 Player Support

Clan Toreador has some of the best PCs around. They create their own plot, and advance events quite nicely. In as many ways as I can, I hope to be able to continue to assist Toreador players advance their stories.

Toreador Plot

Toreador specific plot has not been pushed; most of my interaction with plot has been helping to support OWbNs STs and Coordinators with plots that already exist. I am currently in negotiation with a few other coordinators to potentially introduce a “new” Toreador bloodline. If that agreement still exists after elections I will proceed with that.

Toreador NPCs

I have spent some time introducing NPCs outside of Petronius to allow greater interaction for PCs. I will continue to develop the background world for Toreador players. While I think that the PCs are awesome, I want to continue to provide opportunities for interaction.

 ST Communication

Let’s not forget the STs that we work with. They have the power in their games, as it should be. As coordinator, the job is to mesh with the network of STs. I have tried to work with every ST that has wanted input over past years, and it has generally gone extremely well. This has been one of the happier and more productive parts of the past few years, and I wish to continue with that.

Brazil

I have had some very positive interactions with Brazil over the last year. They throw some of the best parties! I have also worked with the games in South America to advance Toreador genre in a number of ways. My Brazil sub-coord, Bruno, has been awesome and exceptionally helpful in this.

 

Goals (Portuguese):

  • Continuar a promover regionalmente NPCS & mentores para jogadores Toreador. (Nota: Este clã tem alguns dos melhores mentores PC - menor necessidade de NPCs!)

  • Continuar a apoiar a Guilda, tanto na América do Norte quanto no Brasil. Isso inclui permitir aos jogadores direcionar os plots para mudar a Guilda (ou tentar eliminá-la!)

  • Continuar o sistema pelo qual os PCs podem interagir com o escritório do Justicar e com a Guild de modo que mantenha o gênero enquanto encoraja o role-play e a produtividade direcionados por jogadores.

 

Geral:

  • Criar um ambiente onde os PC Toreador podem prosperar.

Apoio ao jogador

Clã Toreador tem alguns dos melhores PCs por aí. Eles criam a sua própria trama e promovem eventos muito bem. De todas as maneiras que eu puder eu espero ser capaz de continuar a ajudar os jogadores Toreador à promover suas histórias.

 

Plot Toreador

Plot específico Toreador não tem sido empurrado; a maior parte da minha interação com plots têm ajudado a suportar os STs e coordenadores do OWbN com plots que já existem. Eu estou atualmente em negociação com alguns outros coordenadores para potencialmente introduzir uma "nova" linhagem Toreador. Se esse acordo ainda existir depois das eleições eu continuarei com isso.

 

Toreador NPCs

Eu gastei algum tempo alguns introduzindo NPCs além do Petronius para permitir uma maior interação com PCs. Vou continuar a desenvolver o pano do fundo para jogadores Toreador. Embora eu ache que os PCs são impressionantes eu quero continuar a proporcionar oportunidades de interação.

 

Comunicação com os ST

Não vamos esquecer os ST com quem trabalhamos. Eles têm o poder em seus jogos, como deve ser. Como coordenador, o trabalho é para engrenar com a rede de STs. Tentei trabalhar com todas os ST que recebi contato nos últimos anos e tem, geralmente, ido muito bem. Esta tem sido uma das partes mais felizes e mais produtivas dos últimos anos, desejo que continue assim.

Brasil

Eu tive algumas interações muito positivas com o Brasil ao longo do último ano. Eles lançam algumas das melhores festas! Eu também tenho trabalhado com os jogos na América do Sul para avançar o gênero Toreador em uma variedade de maneiras. Meu sub-coords para o Brasil, Bruno, têm sido incríveis e extremamente úteis para isso.
