2017 - Demon - Robert Spaulding
Introduction and Background:
My name is Robert Spaulding; some of you may have come to know me as that dark lord, or that guy that can’t get enough of working for the org. As such, I am running for the Demon Coordinator position once more. It has been a very interesting past year. Over all, it has been fun working with the various Coords and chronicles to service their dark desires and needs. This has, as I expected, taken on many forms: from aiding in story creation, NPC portrayal and chronicle support, as well as those that were less expected. OWBN is, despite the ups and downs, still a hobby I enjoy and find the most joy while acting in the capacity that enables me to support the org more effectively as a whole. The office of the demon Coord is one that can impact each and every other genre; as such, I look forward to working with every corner of the org in seeing their dark needs are met. Be it the corners I have come to know very well or those areas of the org interested in new stories. As folks can see, I have been involved with the org now for about fifteen years, having staffed games for eight of those years, while subcoording for the last four. I can say that I have enjoyed myself playing in the org, but it is when I have had the chances to tell stories to players from the near and far, that I have truly come to enjoy it the most.

Meu nome é Robert Spaulding; Alguns de vocês podem ter vindo a conhecer-me como esse senhor escuro, ou aquele cara que não pode obter o suficiente de trabalhar para a org. Como tal, eu estou funcionando para a posição do coordenador do Demon uma vez mais. Foi um ano passado muito interessante. Sobre tudo, foi divertimento trabalhar com os vários Coords e chronicles para servir seus desejos e necessidades escuros. Isso tem, como eu esperava, assumido muitas formas: de auxiliar na criação de histórias, no retrato de NPC e no suporte de crônicas, assim como aquelas que eram menos esperadas. OWBN é, apesar dos altos e baixos, ainda um hobby que eu gosto e encontrar a maior alegria enquanto agindo na capacidade que me permite apoiar a org mais eficazmente como um todo. O escritório do demônio Coord é aquele que pode impactar cada gênero; Como tal, estou ansioso para trabalhar com cada canto da org em ver suas necessidades escuras são atendidas. Seja nos cantos que conheço muito bem ou nas áreas da org interessadas em novas histórias. Como as pessoas podem ver, eu tenho estado envolvido com a org agora por cerca de quinze anos, tendo equipe de jogos para oito desses anos, enquanto subcoording para os últimos quatro. Personal Statement:
I will say this about my experience about this past term: I had stumbled, I tripped, and I am finding my way in the darkness. I remain undeterred with still stories and ideas a plenty in my head to share. Such wonderful dark visions that yearn to be shared. We have started to see what this office can do with guiding stories that can be subtle and insidious. Showing ways infernal and demonic genre can influence and be involved in other genres. All while avoiding being monster of the week. I will admit I have set my goals this past term higher than reality allowed, but I believe in striving and pushing one’s limits to produce quality services for the players and tools for the story tellers. Come one boys and girls will you take this poor sinner’s hand once more and dive into the breach, dancing down the darkest of paths? Won’t you come see what your friends on the other side can do for you this year?

Vou direi o seguinte sobre a minha experiência neste último termo: Eu tropecei, cambaleei e eu estou encontrando meu caminho na escuridão. Eu continuo perseverando com histórias e idéias em abundância na minha cabeça para compartilhar. Tais visões obscuras são tão maravilhosas, que anseiam ser compartilhadas. Nós começamos a ver o que este escritório pode fazer, conduzindo historias que podem ser sutis e insidiosas. Mostrando as várias formas com que o gênero infernalista e demoníaco pode influenciar e se envolver em outros gêneros. Tudo isso evitando ser um monstro da semana. Admito que estabeleci objetivos neste último termo visando algo um pouco além do que a realidade permitia, mas eu realmente acho válido forçar e empurrar os meus limites para produzir serviços de qualidade para os jogadores e ferramentas para os Narradores. Venham meninos e meninas, vocês vão pegar a mão de este pobre pecador mais uma vez e mergulhar na fenda, dançando pelos caminhos mais escuros? Você não quer ver o que seus amigos do outro lado podem fazer por você este ano?
Goals:
This term I hope to accomplish the following goals to the position I am elected to:
Build off the foundation
1: Baali packet is nearly finished. Some fine tuning with mechanics and editing left to do.
2: Fallen packet under final review: I mentioned in the past wishing to see a packet supported by this office to help the sts that play the fallen genre and games that allow those NPCs and pcs to enhance their chronicle. It is our hope that one set of rules will help sts and players.
3: Chapters of a growing story out in play for player’s infernal, demonic or average player to enjoy, I want to keep building on that. Oh, and ideally make it fun for the sts helping running them as well.
4: Packet review. There is some glitches and errors that have been pointed out in the packet and if this year has shown me anything there is some minor adjustments that should be done so things are as crystal clear as they can be. As such I really think this needs a full term to look at and do right. Not something that time permitted with everything else that was needed.
5: Make the hierarchy of the office available to the org.
A lot of work has been done to help make this more natural and establish the powers that be. Some work is still needed, but in each case where it has come up every game we worked in was enhanced by adding elements tied to a power of hell.
6: Build relationships with STs and players.
This has been a big part of this past term. From personally reaching out and talking with sts building that rapport of trust so that I can help them, and have them help me show the many faces of hell. I have further enjoyed the chances to help story tellers start up new chronicles and give new life to others that have struggled or wanted to see a new spin.
7: Steal Drinks from Elzo:
Literally and in the spirit of how I mean it. While it has little to do with the core function of the office it is one I still believe that should be part of it. The org is a community a wonderful one that gives back so much to each of us. The org is a community full of amazing people to enjoy good company and good drinks with. As this office touches every genre I look forward to doing my part to enjoying and giving back in turn, doing my part to support the positive org growth. Even if it kills my liver a little more.
