Introduction and Background:
Hello One World by Night!
Although I have been a member of the org pretty much since it began, there are plenty of folks out there who may not know me. I started playing in Northern Virginia in 1995, played right up until my son was born in 1997. There was a three month break, and then I started playing again in my hometown of Cincinnati. After several years in the org, I took a brief break, during which I earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism and raised my son to his dreaded pre-teen years. I came back to game in 2011, and it was just like coming home - sort of comfortable, a little bit of judgment and a lot of questions about how my life was going.
Since my return to the org, I have slowly been investing my time in a number of volunteer roles. But this year, I decided it is time to put my hat in the ring for the big target and heavy duty responsibility as an Assistant Head Coordinator. I very much want to help the org start growing again, and I hope you will all allow me to do just that.

Olá um mundo à noite!
Embora eu tenha sido um membro da org muito bonito desde que começou, há uma abundância de pessoas lá fora, que pode não me conhecer. Eu comecei a jogar no norte da Virgínia em 1995, jogou até que meu filho nasceu em 1997. Houve uma pausa de três meses, e então eu comecei a jogar novamente em minha cidade natal de Cincinnati. Depois de vários anos na organização, tomei uma breve pausa, durante a qual eu ganhei um diploma de bacharel em Jornalismo e criei meu filho para seus temidos anos pré-adolescentes. Voltei ao jogo em 2011, e foi como voltar para casa - um pouco confortável, um pouco de juízo e um monte de perguntas sobre como minha vida estava indo.
Desde o meu regresso à org, tenho lentamente investido o meu tempo em um número de papéis voluntários. Mas este ano, eu decidi que é hora de colocar o meu chapéu no ringue para o grande alvo e responsabilidade pesada como um Coordenador Assistente. Eu quero muito ajudar a org começar a crescer novamente, e espero que todos vocês me permitam fazer exatamente isso.

Personal Statement:
I have offered myself as tribute this year because I would like to make sure that the interests of our most valuable resources - the players - are represented in all levels of the org. Sometimes, in the day-to-day bureaucracy of getting approvals, propping packets and discussing potential disciplinary situations, it often feels like that we have lost focus on the purpose of this organization - to enjoy a shared universe of games. The two key words there are "enjoy" and "games" - in short, people should be having fun. The administration of the org should be less about squabbling over who should have what powers (in- or out-of-character), and more about making sure the largest number of people can have fun together.

Goals:
- Help establish a well-defined disciplinary policy that will provide appropriately measured responses to infractions.
- Make sure that the org functions more transparently for the players
- Regular updates to Facebook groups, Twitter, and email lists about what Council is discussing (in line with bylaw prohibitions
- Being available to answer questions for anyone, be they a player, ST, coordinator or CM
- Encouraging players to ask questions and to be aware of what is happening in the org
- Begin discussions on how to help Council function more effectively as a representative of the players. We need to think about how to encourage active participation on an org-wide basis.
- Move forward on the non-profit issue, if that is still what the org wants, so that we can start growing a bank to use for hosting big events, funding better marketing and updating the website
