2016 - Tzimisce - Derek Howard
Introduction and Background:
Hello once again OWBN!
It's me! Your friendly and cheerful Tzimisce Coordinator! I am still here and still going strong.
So, for those of you that I have not yet met, my name is Derek Howard and I am running to continue to be your Tzimisce Clan Coordinator.
I have been a part of OWbN since the late 1990s and have seen this organization go through a lot in my time. We have had some amazing up and some introspective downs in our day, and I have enjoyed the ride.
For those of you that do not know me personally, I am a former Early Childhood teacher that now works in educational technology in the really real world. I try to be an all around nice guy and team player for OWbN.
I am also a noted defender of the power of Storytellers and see my position as a facilitator.
Introduction and Background (Portuguese):
Olá , mais uma vez OWBN !
Administrative Experience:
- I am the current Tzimisce Coordinator and have been since 2010. I also have served on Team Ventrue since 2001 and Team Sabbat from 2000-2006ish and 2010-today.
- I have also served as interim Camarilla and Sabbat Coordinator and Subcoord for the Camarilla, Clan Gangrel, and Clan Giovanni Coordinator offices over the years.
- I was one of the founding Storytellers of the Springfield, IL: Capitol City Cauldron chronicle (1999).
- I have also been a Storyteller for Caught in the Eternal Twilight (Edwardsville, IL) and served as a guest ST for several other chronicles.
- I have served as a CM for several different chronicles.
- I have served as an Event Storyteller for a number of OWbN events including Grand Masquerade, Midwinter, and Grand Elysium (Sabbat side).

Personal Statement:
After all of this time, I would hope that the players and storytellers of OWbN known how much I care about Clan Tzimisce and the people that help make OWbN great.
As Coordinators, we have a duty to the rest of the organization to help make games better. Sometimes this means telling people no in order to preserve the genre that we have been tasked with guarding. For the most part, however, we
get to see the games come alive in their own individual way.
One of my favorite things to do as a Coordinator is getting to talk to players and hear about the amazing things that they are doing with their PCs. Storytellers are gracious enough to let me peek behind the curtain and see what cool things
they are doing in their games. I would not trade those experiences for anything.
To be honest, I feel at a loss for words. This organization has put a lot of faith in me over the years.
I have met or exceeded expectations and I have failed you all.
Rather than make big bold personal statements, I just want to say thank you OWbN. I would be honored if you would just let me stick around.
Personal Statement (Portuguese):
Depois de todo esse tempo, espero que os jogadores e narradores de OWBN conhecido o quanto eu me importo com Clã Tzimisce e as pessoas que ajudam a tornar OWBN grande.
Goals:
Goals!
I have them!
Packet: So now that the packet has been out and in circulation for a little over a year, I have been getting some great feedback on it. One of my major goals for this year is to polish up the packet with some minor changes that just are not working and add a couple of items that I feel I need to spell out. As far as the big picture goes, this will be a set of minor "tweaks'' and not sweeping changes to the genre packet.
Clan Genre: I have stated numerous times that I am facilitator to players and storytellers, and I stand by that pledge. That being said, one of my goals for this year is to focus on some in clan items over the clan's place in the Sabbat. With storyteller support/blessing, I would like to see some more clan interaction. I plan to reintroduce the concept of a regional Voivode and hope that it draws some dynamic role play among the Tzimisce players. We also have, for the firt time, a PC Voivode of Voivodes. How will that pan out? I am excited to see what the players might do with it.
"Natural" Kolduns: I am still working to soften the balance of base Tzimisce PCs (Vicissitude in clan) and "natural" kolduns (Sorcery in clan). I t is still my hope that one these level out I can remove the approval process for kolduns.
I like goals. I think everyone should have them. I even have more, but I do not want to bog this down.
