Introduction and Background:

I have played in OWBN for around 15 years, Larping for longer and playing vampire for even longer. I love the role play and the awesome interactions and shared history that OWBN has to offer.  I have played Cam, Sabbat, independent and anarch, various clans and factions and have enjoyed great role play  in multiple games and events around the org over the years. I love to tell a good story and my focus is definitely on story and characters rather than powers and rules. That said I have a good understanding of the rules and am comfortable running combats or adjudicating other rules intensive situations.  Gangrel is one of my favorite clans and I would love an opportunity to be a part of the team that helps Gangrel players across the org have fun, develop their characters and have meaningful interactions with coord level NPCs and teritories.   I enjoy telling a good story, but at this time it is harder to make it to games for me (because I have little ones) so I am looking forward to participating in the org on a larger scale and I can easily answer emails and handle things online.  Currently I am an active player in both Columbus in Darkness and Ohio Knights Sabbat.

Administrative Experience:

I have been an ST for both CID and OKS for multiple years each, helped run many event games for each and portrayed NPCs for the events.  Previous to my time in OWBN I ran many troupe games as well and convention vampire LARPs as well.  I like to have a good staff to lean on so that the work load is not all on me, but I am willing and able to pick up the slack if needed, or bring on new staff who can fill in for any shortcomings.  I was also HST of CID for a year, it was a great experience and if I could make it to game regularly I would even consider doing it again.

I work as helpdesk for an IT company currently and have previous experience running an office and small call center.  I have owned my own businesses in the past and currently help manage one out of my home as well.  I also have years of customer service experience, this may not seem relavent but if you have ever had to deal with an angry customer/player, those skills go a long way.

Personal Statement:

I believe strongly that the story is the most important element in the game and it should take precedence over other considerations.  The characters personal stories as well as the overarching story for the org itself.  I dislike any OOC rules that do not make sense IC.  I would always give a character a chance to roleplay, even in a dire situation rather than simply GNC or hand waving a situation.  I want people be able to play interesting characters and for things that need approval the story to me is the important thing, a good concept will go a lot farther with a fleshed out backstory and ties to currently active PCs.  I love and hate the org at times, loving the story, hating when bureaucracy gets in the way of that, though I do recognize the need for most of the bureaucracy.

Goals:

My goal is to help players enjoy the game through my office as Gangrel Coordinator, to portray NPCs, interact with games and use subcoord positions to elevate the experience of players across the org.  I wish to manage approvals and territories fairly and assist players when they need it, to write backgrounds or create pcs with tie ins to coord level things (if they want them).  I want to continue the Gangrel genre as it has been (for the most part) and run an excellent event for gangrel players (as well as other players).

I would like to add a winter solstice event for the winter Gangrel gather.  I would try to set up an IRC chat event with staff and break out rooms for private scenes and online adjudication when needed.  I would like for the gangrel to have a clan only event without having to organize a large scale event and deal with the logistics of having people travel halfway across the country just to play for a couple days.  Those kind of events are awesome, but already exits in plenty across the org.  IRC events can be done in real time, last for several hours and even a couple days over a weekend, be staffed and monitored and have even combats resolved (though perhaps more difficult than in person)  This would be a gangrel only event, and hopefully help foster a sense of community and culture for the clan.

I would like to open up the Gangrel Summer Solstice event to all players of any clan to attend and enjoy. I loved the event this last year (my first time there) and want others to be able to bring any PC they like to witness the awesome culture and stories of Clan Gangrel.  I know this might not be a popular idea with gangrel players, but I would like to bring the conflict IC instead of OOC.  If players want to bring their non gangrel there will be plenty for them to do to have fun at the event AND conflict among clan gangrel with each other and with outsiders.  Having conflict IC for players to interact with, chose sides, argue, and even fight about would generate plot for the event without having to rely on any outside elements for conflict. (though of course I have other ideas for plot for the event as well).

Here are some answers to the bigger questions that have been asked on counicl.

Gangrel Coord Questions answered.

What about a new Packet?

I plan to submit a packet very early on to flesh out genre content.  I want to give the gangrel players updated information and resources for new and old players alike.

Deregulation?

I would like to deregulate some things and change the R&U classification on others. I would not require Coord approval for any paths and I would like to put some more combos in the hands of the STs to allow access for more Gangrel who find teachers IC.

Too many Vikings?

I won’t lie, I love the Einherjar.  I want to see more Neo Einherjar develop their own culture and turn the tables on the Vikings.  I would not offer a lot of Einherjar plot but I would like to see Bruhilde again.  I want more non Gangrel embracing the way so that this is less of a “clan Viking” issue and more hate can be directed at the Einherjar from elsewhere (its ok, they feed on it)

Other subcultures/bloodlines?

I love that we have several Mariners now, I would like to see some Greek Gangrel and I would explore other subcultures and bloodlines.  I encourage good stories and would be willing to work with people who wanted to introduce (or reintroduce) something rare.  It is a theme in WoD genre is that nothing is ever truly lost and at least one bloodline of Gangrel resurrected themselves…

What about the Antitribue?

They need at least one dedicated subcoord. I want some “no cam” gathers where stories can be told about “playing pet” and other murderous Gangrel games. It would be nice to have the Antitribue show up at a gather and know each other better, to actually form a subculture among the rest of the clan.

Ghost singers?

I love the Ghost singers.  I want to give them their own subcoord and work closely with them.  They need some wrap up, but also for some mysteries to chase, perhaps answering questions, but having them lead to new questions.

What about Brazil?

We are an international Org and I want more communication between Brazil and the rest of us.  I have some plot ideas that I would even love to start in Brazil to give them some Gangrel attention that would encourage interaction between the games. I would need at least two solid subcoords there to help out, possibly more.

More online scenes?

Yes. It is frustrating playing a PC who is a wanderer but being limited by real life concerns.  I am all about online gathers, parties and fires.  I want to organize an IRC event that would be live, perhaps go over two nights and be staffed for as much interaction as possible.  I would like to do this for the winter solstice gather (the one that is supposed to be Gangrel only) and see how it goes.

Gangrel Event

I want to open this event up to those not of Gangrel blood.  I know this may not be a popular idea among some, but I would like to take that conflict IC and allow it to play out, with supporting NPCs on both sides of that conflict.  I want more people to attend the event, not just those with Gangrel PCs.  Gangrel culture is too awesome to not share it.

Org Wide Plot?

I would like to explore the subcultures among the Gangrel and how they interact. I want to see more friction between the Independents and the Cam.  I want Gangrel stories to flow, for “secrets” to stop being so secret and instead treated as sacred stories, still not to be shared with outsiders, but to be spread far and wide to those Gangrel who are eager to listen.
