Introduction and Background:

It’s that time of the year again!  Election Season!  I am once again running for, and hoping to re obtain, the position of Sabbat Coordinator for the coming year.  It has been a very long and busy year for us on Team Sabbat.  One which I will happily go into detail as usual in regards to what we did in the past term and what our plans are for the coming one.  Before we start that however, let me continue as always with a little bit about who I am.

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Adam Sartori and I am the current Sabbat Coordinator for OWbN and am seeking re-election.  I have been playing One World by Night since I was the wee young age of 13 (back before STs realized how terrible an idea it was to let 13 year olds play Vampire: The Masquerade.)  My first game was East of the River, run by D Scott (former head coordinator).  Since that time I have been play actively in this org and have held many positions, as one can see from my administrative experience.

In my daily life I work for Customer service in the financial industry.  See I am well versed on how to treat people diplomatically and with courtesy…as well its my daily job to do so.  We do however need to remember from time to time that this a game and a hobby we all love.  To often we take ourselves a bit too seriously and should remember this.  I often try to do this by being comedic and jovial whenever I can.

This past year was a very difficult one for the Coordinator Team as a whole.  Early on we learned one of the Coordinators was leaking information of our Coordinator list to people outside of it.  As long as I have been a Coordinator it is a rule that we don’t do that.  The result of reach severely damaged the trust and working relationship between the Coordinators.  Still, while we had out issues I believe we pulled through as best we could.

As for Team Sabbat, it has been a very busy year for us.  We focused a lot of our attention on the 4th Sabbat Civil War.  The goal was and remains of this plot to make it as PC driven and involved as possible.  As one can imagine that’s actually a fairly difficult task to accomplish.  We used NPCs to support the PCs and removed many of them the center stage so to speak.

I created the “War Room” that allows games to update us on their status of using the Sabbat Civil War.  Many appear to be using it and in the ways the best fit their game.  Our goal was, and remains, to support the needs of the games and not force them to do anything.  We provide resources and any support a game might need if they desire to use the 4th Sabbat Civil War plot.  Too which many art….despite the PCs covering up IC how bad it really is!

Though for those of you who follow my blogs, you already know most of all this.  I keep the org fairly well updated through that medium and plan to continue to do so if reelected.  I am also pretty much one of the easiest guys to get a hold of, and one of the fastest to reply to your needs.  That has seemed to work out well for us, so I plan on continuing that practice.

That pretty much sums up last year.  We had, and continue to do, have a lot of work.  This coming year looks no different to me.  I have now been Sabbat coord for about five years now, and the good news is I still love it.  Being a Coordinator is a LOT of hard work and dedication.  But at the end of the day I am still having fun and really enjoy my job.  I still have a lot left I want to do and give to One World by Night as a whole.

Personal Statement:

This coming term I hope to continue on as I always have.  The Civil War plot has no scripted end time or event.  It’s a PC driven plot, so we on Team Sabbar will continue to support it until the PCs end the plot.  It’s really that simply.  As usual, when I say Team Sabbat, I do mean Team.  I couldn’t do it without these guys.  I don’t make ever decision alone.  We do that as a Team.  I treat my subcoords like Coordinators and give them a lot of authority and trust.  Its really the only way one could do this job with any sort of efficiency.  In the coming term I plan to continue to grow and support our team unity and redouble our efforts on things as usual.  We have a lot of work still to do.

Another thing on my agenda is do some edits on the current packets.  That is to say, players have pointed out to me some of the terrible edits from the last time I passed them.  Not just grammar but things missing etc.  So I plan on fixing that, but nothing major will be changed.  Additionally my goal is too look at the R&U the Sabbat has and see what can be reduced to allow storytellers a bit more leeway.  My goal is to have the minimum amount of R&U needed.

Finally, it is my hope with this term we can get a bit more back on track as a coordinator team.  I believe we should work together as a coordinator team and look at things like plot together.  Just some ideas really, nothing concreate.  Overall we as a coordinator team need to re learn how to work together, and I for one am as always willing to work with my fellow cords to help make this org a better place for everyone who enjoys it.

Lastly we have the third annual Ecumenical Council coming up.  As always I will continue to support and promote the event to make even better than last year!  I am very excited to see what the Players of OWbN Sabbat come up with and how they will drive this event.  As I am sure it will tie into the Civil War plot. I am already in the process of working with the winning game staff and getting this ball rolling so we are all good to go for the event!

So that basically sums it up.  If, as always, anyone has any questions comments or concerns feel free to hit me up.  I hope you will once again choose me to be your Sabbat Coordinator for OWbN.  I love this job and still have a lot of drive and desire to do it.  As always I shall leave you with an Iron Man quote.

Tony Stark: If I lift it, do I get to rule Asgard?

Thor: Yes, of course.

Tony Stark: I will be fair, but firmly cruel.

Thor: No, I'm sure.

Goals:

Goals

Accomplished Last Term:

Thankfully I use Wunderlist which allows me to sort my work and creates a log of what I have done…which of course does not cover the hundreds of emails I answer on a weekly basis.

  • Created the “War Room” for the Civil War plot
  • Created Help Desk for Team Sabbat
  • Made up several NPC packs for games to use freely for the Civil War
  • Reorganized the Factions by promoting those PCs who are most active and removing those who were not.
  • Continued to support Games and Storytellers running the Civil War with coordination.
  • Held monthly Team Sabbat google hangout meetings.
  • Continued to post Vlogs and Blogs on the Sabbat Blog
  • Attempted to update the wiki, broke it…then fixed it!
  • Created the Non-Binding “Eternal Struggle” guide to Sabbat and Camarlla conflicts guide.
  • Begin work on Ecumenical Council 3, including selecting the hosting game.
  • Ran Many scenes in regards to the 4th Sabbar Civil with the goal of keeping it PC driven and using NPCs to support PC actions.

Goals for New Term:

  • Update the Website.  This needed to be done this year, but its been fairly hard to find someone with the skills and time to do it.  I shall redouble my efforts in this regard.
  • 4th Sabbat Civil War:  I have no plans to end the plot or have a set “this is how this ends”.  By canon Sabbat Civil Wars can last decades or less than a year.  How this plot ends is entirely in the PCs hands.  There is no set plan, for example, to end this plot at Ecumenical Council 3.  We will however, as a team, continue to support the plot and help guide it across OWbN.
  • Response Time:  I will continue to maintain my fast response time to all emails, requests, and support I can give.
  • Team Sabbat:  I will continue to hold a high standard for my time in regards to work, support, and response times.  In addition to this I will continue to hold monthly google hangout meetings with the team to keep us coordinated and moving forward.
  • Game Support:  I will continue to support the games and storytellers of OWbN to the best of my ability.  I will work with games to help them tell their stories and support their players as they need.
  • Blogs:  I shall continue to do my blogs and vlogs and attempt to be more active on them.
  • Ecumenical Council 3:  I will continue to help support the hosting game and help coordinate the event it as need be.
  • Packets:  I plan to do some editing in regards to the current packets, like the Faction Packet, that very badly need it as the last round of updates missed quite a few things.  Nothing major in regards to changes, but just cleaning things up.
