2015 - Follower's of Set - Stacey Diaz
Introduction and Background:
Like many, my gaming started many years ago with the computer game Space Hulk. From there I started miniature gaming with Warhammer 40k and playing Magic the Gathering. Eventually in my adult years I was introduced to DnD during version 3.5. In 1998 I was introduced into the World of Darkness through tabletop Vampire the Masquerade and shortly after that Mage and Garou. I actually found Vampire Larp completely on accident. In fact, the game just happen to play at the same site we table topped at. After some convincing, I made my first character and have loved Larping ever since.
After the creation of the local Garou game Dreams of Chaos I was asked on staff to maintain the books. Shortly after, I was aiding with narration and eventually brought on as a full time storyteller. I took over the game after the games founders retired and ran the game until I relocated due to the continuing my education. After my relocation and the creation of TGN, the game chose to leave OWNB for the Garou Nation.
When I first made my Setite Tanis, I wasn't sure where I wanted to go with her and while I was familiar with Setite genre I didn't really know the ins and outs of the clan. So I went home that weekend and dove right into the genre packet, thaum packet, and the clan book. During that weekend is when I fell in love the genre. The very next game I dove into my character without fear, freely speaking to my elders, having interesting conversations about the faith. To this day, that is how I still play my PC and I love how she interacts with everyone around her.
My experiences as a subcoord for the Followers of Set this year has been a great adventure. Mostly it has been an eye opening experience in how the clan is run from behind the scene in regards to NPC use, magic request, and how the Setite team operates. While I was aware of all these things in theory it has been a great experience to gain an understanding of how it is actually done in practice. With this gained insight I now have a better idea of how to be an effective Coordinator to the genre.
Introduction and Background (Portuguese):
Eu realmente achei Vampiro Larp completamente no acidente.

Administrative Experience (Portuguese):
What drives the overall genre of Vampire the Masquerade is personal horror. Setite genre allows for a unique way for players to immediately jump into that horror. The fundamental aspect of Setite genre is doing things which are morally reprehensible and accepting them as virtuous. It is an interesting juxtaposition of what the player holds true versus what the PC believes to be right. By working with storytellers and players alike I hope to help players enjoy Setite genre as much as I do.
The best way a Coordinator can help their players is by being attentive and communicative to the questions that are presented to them. That is why I intend to have a response turnaround time of three days. Also, I believe there are certain aspects of the the genre documents which need more clarification and so I intend to revise those documents accordingly.
Overall, I wish to bring the genre out of the stagnation that it has been in for the last couple of years through the use of NPCs and certain plots. It is my hope that by working with storytellers and players they can be more comfortable with having independent Setites in their game. It is my belief that many of the Camarilla Setites which exist in abundance is because, much like myself, many players were told by their storytellers that they may only play a Setite if they were also in the Camarilla. I feel that if storytellers had a better understanding of how independent Setites operated they would be more comfortable with having them in their game. These, and many other of the ideas I have, will improve Setite genre for both storytellers and players.
