Introduction and Background:

Hello! My name is Jesse Ditty and I’m running for Assamite Coordinator for 2015. I’m not a widely known individual within OWBN, though I have been playing for 10 years at this point. I’ve mostly stuck to local games and Midwest Event games that I could travel to (Midwinter, Ecumenical Council and I finally made the Gen Con game in 2014). I started playing in a local chronicle back in 2004 at a suggestion from some classmates while I was in college. I was hooked from the beginning. This Org has been the creative outlet I’ve searched for as a teenager. I always enjoyed playing tabletop games in high school and joining OWBN was the next step for me. I found I was able to more passionately get into game that was LARP vs tabletop because LARPing allowed me to get my creative juices flowing more and act as my character would. It was far more fulfilling to me than the tabletop games I started playing in.

My second PC I made in the Org was an Assamite Anti. And from there I was hooked on the Clan. The different Castes and Factions allow for an incredibly vast amount of options to provide for a beautiful and incredibly fun story. I’ve now played a few Assamite PCs over the years across the Sects. I tried several times to branch out and play other things, but I always keep coming back to this Clan because they are my favorite. I love the Assamite genre – all aspects and factions of it. Like everything, this clan has its ups and downs. I’ve enjoyed both. From being an antitribu addicted to my sire’s blood and dying trying to reclaim it, to wandering “lost” as a dispossessed for years, I’ve enjoyed the aspects of this clan that I’ve not often seen portrayed.

Prior to becoming a Sub Coord, I had not portrayed a Schismatic character. My PCs had been either Antitribu or Dispossessed. I loved the idea behind the Dispossessed and how they were “lost” from the Clan and stuck on their own to find their own way. Jumping into the Schism feet first with the Eldest of the Midwest was an amazing transition from flying solo to working with an entire region of players to accomplish the goals set before the Clan by the Eldest in Exile.

Administrative Experience:

Sub Coordinator for Assamite Coordinator – 2014 – present. Midwest Sub Coordinator portraying the Eldest of the Midwest as well as a Dispossessed Sub Coordinator for the Clan.

ST for Springfield, IL: Capitol City Cauldron: December 2014-present

ST for Decatur, IL: The Chaos Within: Several occasions between 2005 and 2012.

Narrator for Springfield, IL: Capital City Cauldron: April 2014 – December 2014

Narrator for Decatur, IL: The Chaos Within: Several occasions over the last 10 years.

Personal Statement:

I’ve enjoyed this clan from the first time I played an antitribu in 2004. I’ve enjoyed my time on the team this year and have learned a good deal from Lex. He has been very willing to give us the autonomy we need to perform our duties as his Sub Coordinators. This has allowed me greater scope both OOC and IC to provide for the players of this wonderful clan.

Goals:

My goals for after I’m elected are as follows:

Response time: I would like to continue to maintain a good, quick response time. Ideally, the team will maintain a 3 day or less timeframe.

Genre Packet: A packet has been in the works this year. I’d like to see it completed and propped to council. (Update A packet has currently been propped. My actions here will be decided based on if it passes or not.)

The Schism: PC’s have continued to take stronger leadership roles within the Schism. I welcome and encourage this practice. I’d like to have PCs in place that can answer questions and give direction for their Castes without the need to rely on so many NPCs. I plan to bring the Silk Road back into play more and encourage players to seek it out and advance upon it to grow the strength of the Clan within the Camarilla. Players who are not as interested in the political side of things will be able to seek out a few PCs within the Schism that are developing other avenues to utilize their skills.

The Unconquered: I’d like to continue the story with the activities of the Hulul and continue his agenda throughout the next year.

Extremis Boon: The Extremis Boon will be filled at the end of the upcoming Conclave. Regardless of outcome, the Toreador have done what they can for the Assamites.

The Dispossessed: The winds of change are blowing for this faction. There are PCs that are currently working on a plot that will provide a great detail of interaction for players of Dispossessed, Anarch, and Camarilla a like. I hope to continue to support the story that these players are working to develop and provide an exciting new story for everyone.

The Loyalists: I plan to continue the storylines of the various Loyalist PCs in the Org and I encourage storytellers to want to use Loyalists in their chronicle or players who want to delve into this previously unavailable faction to contact me with any questions.
