Introduction and Background:

Hello Everyone! My name is Jon Dunn and I would like to throw my name in the hat to be considered for the position of Assistant Head Coordinator.  I have been a part of One World by Night since 2009 when Peoria, IL first brought a game into town.  Since then, I have been heavily involved in OWBN, first as a player, then as a Storyteller and most recently, I have been taking on positions as a Sub Coord.

 

When Decatur, IL: The Chaos Within hosted the first annual Sabbat Event in April 2013, known as Ecumenical Council.  I realized that I really wanted to try and help advance OWbN as an organization. From  amazing costumes to excellent roleplay, EC was inspiring. The general demeanor, created by the players themselves, made it something unforgettable. The event itself was a team effort, and while the staff was involved with the plot that took place at the event, the players are the ones who ended up telling the story.  I realized, then, that all it takes is teamwork, strong leadership, and the desire to make the game fun for the Org to continue to push forward with this epic tale that we all have been telling together.

 

Out of Character: I graduated from Eureka College in 2008. In 2009, I started working as a Probation Officer for Peoria County in the State of Illinois.  I have handled a diverse assortment of caseloads, including Regular Probation, DUI Probation, Special Probation (410/710/TASC), Domestic Violence cases, and, most recently, I was assigned to handle all of Peoria County’s Conditional Discharges, Court Supervisions, and Probation cases that are considered living outside of Peoria County, Illinois.  In total, I monitor over 6,000 defendants in the Peoria County Judicial System.

 

While working within Peoria County, I have be able to participate and receive training in various fields that I believe are relevant to the Assistant Head Coordinator Position.

Olá A Todos! Meu nome é Jon Dunn e eu gostaria de jogar meu nome no chapéu a ser considerado para o cargo de Coordenador Adjunto Head. Tenho sido uma parte do One World by Night desde 2009, quando Peoria, IL primeiro trouxe um jogo para a cidade. Desde então, tenho sido fortemente envolvido no OWBN, primeiro como jogador e depois como um contador de histórias e, mais recentemente, eu tenho tomado em cargos como Coord Sub.

 

Quando Decatur, IL: O caos dentro sediou a primeira Sabbat Evento anual, em abril de 2013, conhecido como Concílio Ecumênico. Eu percebi que eu realmente queria tentar e ajudar a avançar OWBN como uma organização. De figurinos incríveis para excelente roleplay, CE foi inspirador. O comportamento geral, criados pelos próprios jogadores, tornou algo inesquecível. O evento em si foi um esforço de equipe, e enquanto a equipe estava envolvido com a trama que teve lugar no evento, os jogadores são os que acabaram de contar a história. Percebi, então, que tudo o que tem é o trabalho em equipe, liderança forte, e o desejo de fazer o jogo divertido para a Org para continuar a empurrar para a frente com este conto épico que todos temos vindo a dizer juntos.

 

Out of Character: Eu me formei na Eureka College, em 2008. Em 2009, comecei a trabalhar como um agente de saída precária para Peoria County, no Estado de Illinois. Tenho tratado uma diversa variedade de tipos de casos, incluindo regular Probation, DUI Probation, Probation Especial (410/710 / TASC), os casos de violência doméstica, e, mais recentemente, fui designado para lidar com todas as condicionais descargas de Peoria condado, corte Supervisões, e os casos de liberdade condicional que são considerados fora viva de Peoria County, Illinois. Personal Statement:

This position, as I see it, is primarily an “Assistant” to the Head Coordinator and Council.  I feel the best way for me to do this is to assist our newly elected Head Coordinator at an administrative level.  Many individuals could testify to my dedication in responding to email in a timely manner.  I am a major proponent of organization and paper trails due to my real world position; just ask my fellow storyteller’s in Decatur.  With my real world experience at handling various types of clientele, working within the court system, and extensive amounts of training in conflict resolution, I believe I would be a good candidate for the position.  My heart is still in OWbN six years later. I hope to help make it so everyone feels proud of the Org in which they belong.

 


 

Personal Statement (Portuguese):

Esta posição, a meu ver, é principalmente um "assistente" para o Coordenador Chefe e do Conselho. Sinto-me a melhor maneira para eu fazer isso é ajudar o nosso Coordenador Chefe recém-eleito a nível administrativo. Muitas pessoas poderiam testemunhar a minha dedicação para responder ao e-mail em tempo hábil. Eu sou um grande defensor da organização e papel trilhas devido a minha posição no mundo real; basta perguntar a minha colega contador de histórias de em Decatur. Com a minha experiência no mundo real em lidar com vários tipos de clientela, trabalhando dentro do sistema judicial, e grandes quantidades de treinamento em resolução de conflitos, eu acredito que eu seria um bom candidato para a posição. Meu coração ainda está em OWBN seis anos depois. Espero poder ajudar a fazer isso para que todos se sente orgulhoso do Org no qual eles pertencem.

 


 

Goals:

  1. To work with the newly elected Head Coordinator and Council to try and determine the most efficient and effective way to fill out all forms needed and required by the Org to have a game be in compliance with our bylaws.  

  2. To help diffuse negative or “toxic” interactions and to promote a positive and helpful environment between parties.  Miscommunication between (a) players or (b) players and a storytelling staff has a rippling effect through the organization.  It creates a negativity that can and does last for years. It is especially difficult when there may be no right answer.  I have an extensive amount of experience acting as a mediator between disgruntled or angry parties and I want to use that skill set to assist in alleviating some of the drama within the org. 

  3. To help support the Head Coordinator and Council.  I am a team player first and foremost, and believe that with strong leadership and an effective executive team to back that leadership, we can continue to thrive and grow as an organization.

  1. Para trabalhar com o Coordenador Chefe recém-eleito e do Conselho para tentar determinar a forma mais eficiente e eficaz para preencher todos os formulários necessários e exigidos pela Org ter um jogo estar em conformidade com o estatuto social.

  2. Para ajudar a difundir interações negativas ou "tóxicos" e promover um ambiente positivo e útil entre as partes. Falta de comunicação entre (a) os jogadores ou (b) os jogadores e uma equipe storytelling tem um efeito de ondulação através da organização. Ele cria uma negatividade que pode e deve durar anos. É especialmente difícil quando pode não haver resposta certa. Eu tenho uma grande quantidade de experiência atuando como mediador entre as partes descontentes ou irritados e eu quero usar esse conjunto de habilidades para ajudar a aliviar alguns dos dramas dentro da org.

  3. Para ajudar a apoiar o Coordenador Chefe e do Conselho. Eu sou um jogador da equipe em primeiro lugar, e acredito que com uma liderança forte e uma equipe executiva eficaz para fazer que a liderança, podemos continuar a prosperar e crescer como uma organização.
