2014 - Follower's of Set Coordinator - Jennifer Lee Leyrer

Applicant Name:
Jennifer Lee Leyrer
Applicant Email: Home Chronicle:

Introduction and Background:

I joined OWBN in 2006 when Orland Park: Shadows of the Jewel started its application to the org.  Until 2007 I played heavily in the Midwest, including Chicago, Shadows and Kenosha.  When I moved to the Midatlantic in 2007 I played in Winchester, Washington, D.C., Annapolis, Fredericksburg and Cap Rage Garou.  I currently reside in Sacramento, CA and actively play in Stockton by Night, Sacramento by Night, Lux Tenebras (Sabbat) and to a lesser extent River of Shadows (Garou).

I have served as a Storyteller several times in my history with One World by Night and I really enjoy this aspect of the org.  One of my favorite things as a storyteller is world-building.  I find giving the players an environment to interact with provides the players with a much richer gaming experience.  Through my tenure as Setite Coordinator I have been able to assist many storytellers by enriching their plots and providing NPC support to help fill out Setite and Serpent genre in their games.  This has been by far the most rewarding experiences as Coordinator and I know that there are still many active stories that the team is involved in.  I hope to have the opportunity to see them to fruition with another term as Setite Coordinator.

One of my favorite aspects of gaming in OWBN is the yearly event games.  I feel event games give players an opportunity to engage in the bigger universe of the org and reminds them that they are not just saving the world in their own games every two weeks.  I plan to continue to attend as many events as I am able, and would be happy to provide support through Subcoordinators for the events that I am not able to make.

Administrative Experience:

2006-2007 -- Head Storyteller for Orland Park: Shadows of the Jewel

2007-2008 -- Assistant Storyteller for Fredericksburg: Caine’s Chosen

2009-2011 -- Council Member for Fredericksburg: Caine’s Chosen

2010-2011 -- Assistant Storyteller for Annapolis: Vitae Aeternus

2010-2011 -- Serpents of the Light Coordinator for the Setite Coordinator

2011-2011 -- Council Member for Northern Virginia: Night Falls

2011-Present -- Setite Coordinator

2012-Present -- Head Storyteller for Stockton by Night

Personal Statement:

I have worked closely with many players, storytellers and other Coordinators to provide support for the Followers of Set and Serpent genre.  I look forward to continuing the active plots that are being run and am in the process of developing opportunity for more in the coming year.  I hope to have the opportunity to see these stories through to their conclusion.

In terms of Setite genre, I have been happy to be apart of the work that has been done in the last year.  NPC’s have been unusually quiet on the public lists and it has given PC’s the opportunity to politic amongst themselves and reach in private.  This has help lay the groundwork for a bigger plot that the team has been working on and I am excited to get this off the ground in the first months with the support of council, if I am re-elected.  For the Serpents, there has been a great deal of momentum created with the help of the Sabbat team and I am excited to continue the story and see just how far the Serpents can get within the ranks of the clergy and continue to flesh out their relationship to the Inquisition.  Of course, if elected, I will continue my work with the Sabbat team to keep our shared vision alive.

I am so pleased with the many new faces that have joined my team and many of them I would hope to maintain on staff.  I do always appreciate fresh perspectives and will be actively seeking new Sub-Coordinators.  As before, if I am elected, I would consider any of the other candidates for a Sub-Coordinator position.  If you are willing to run for a position, I have no doubt that you must be very committed to pursuing the genre.

I look forward to answering any other questions that players, storytellers and council members  may have about my intentions for another term, so please feel free to contact me directly.

Goals:

  • Propose the recently completed Setite Sorcery and Wanga packet (of course if I am not re-elected I will provide this to the new Coordinator for use or proposal).  This packet includes rarity changes that are more in line based on Storyteller and Player input, as well as some additions based on the same

  • Complete changes to the Setite genre packet to help flesh out Setite roles and provide more detail for Citizens.  One such addition is the “Temple” background to be utilized as a mechanic for Setite players establishing their cults and temples in their games (this will help replace the need for utilized the “Cult” background from the Infernal Packet)

  • Further develop the Followers of Set website and continue to work with the Anarch Coordinator to provide a wiki system for Independent Setites to utilize

  • Provide courteous and fast genre support for storytellers and players from myself and my staff

  • Continue the work that has been set forth to provide a better opportunity for the Cult facet of Setite genre and continue to foster player created temples and cults - This work will ultimately culminate in a Cult primer for the genre packet to assist players and storytellers

  • Continue the progression of the Serpents of the Light and their involvement within the Sabbat.  There were many strides in the previous term and plan to pursue the elevation of at least one Serpent of the Light to the position of Priscus to help show their momentum in recent Sabbat genre
