[PROPOSAL] Revision to Disciplinary Bylaw 6C

I propose that we change Administrative Bylaws, Section 6.C from:

C. Treatment of Old Strikes
i. All OWBN level strikes given by OWBN prior to February 6, 2003 shall be subject to the restrictions, conditions and durations in effect for strikes at the time the strike was given.

to one of the following options:

(Option A)
C. Treatment of Old Disciplinary Actions
i. Unless noted in the original proposal, all members with disciplinary actions shall be subject to the restrictions, conditions and durations in effect at the time they were issued.
ii. Members with disciplinary actions that have been reversed or reduced are subject to the restrictions, conditions and durations of their reversed or reduced disciplinary action in effect at the time of the reversal or reduction.

i. Unless noted in the original proposal, all members with disciplinary actions shall be subject to the restrictions, conditions and durations of the most current bylaws.

In regards to documentation should Council pass option A, I further propose that Option A include the following change to Administrative Bylaws, Section 6.F.i from:

i. The elected Archivist will compile and maintain a record of all members given OWBN Disciplinary actions.

Option B makes all punishments a moving target, and reflects an unhealthy punitive attitude in our org. Punishments should remain as they were when they were instituted, not adjusted after the fact.
