Section 8. Blood Magic
E. PCs may only have one style, or variant, of Blood Magic

i. In-clan disciplines that fall into the styles listed in Section 8.A are

considered the one allowed variant for the respective

clans/ghouls/bloodlines that possess it.

Reasoning: This is a relic bylaw left over from the days when the only regulation on Blood Magic was that it was notified to council. It was put in place to prevent a continuing problem of the rapid spread of Necromancy and Thaumturgy combo. However since that time this problem has ceased to exist in the organization. Additionally more regulation in regards to how Blood Magic is handled in the org has been put into place. Now it all requires Coordinator approval, meaning in its current form this aspect is already regulated doubly.

In canon and genre there are vampires who practice multiple types of Blood Magic though they are rare (House High Saturday, the Eye of the Serpent, etc). To bring our organization closer to the printed material this option should be allowed for PCs but still be regulated. As such, with the removal of this bylaw, a system is already in place in the form of Coordinator Approval (As in all non native users of a Blood Magic require coordinator approval anyways, and no clan or bloodline posses two types of Blood Magic In Clan). Finally the mechanical system is already presented for us in regards to XP cost for a second paradigm in blood magic, so this too does not require us to create it or change anything.

This bylaw is a relic from a bygone area in our organization that causes a discipline to be double regulated in our org, in addition to pushing us further away from the printed material. My game feels it is time we move on in our organization and trust our coordinators to regulate this for us. Currently it is not allowed in our organization at all for a PC to pursue a printed White Wolf concept. My game feels we should change that.
