2016 - Finance - Jonathan Slack
Introduction and Background:
My name is Jonathan Slack. I'm a Canadian from Winnipeg, and I'm here to run for Finance Coordinator. I've probably sent messages to almost everyone in the Org in my time as Web Coordinator, thanking them for keeping the site up to date. I've stepped down from Web Coordinator because I am hoping for someone with Devlopment and Coding experience to take over the position. Primarily I'm an administrator, and I have worked hard to ensure that my response times are fast during my time as Web Coordinator, and this will not change should I get the Finance Coordinator position.
I've enjoyed OWBN as a player, storyteller, and council member since 2008, and before that I enjoyed playing and then running a Garou Troupe larp from 1997-2005. I love the interconnected nature of the Org, and I have travelled to nearby chronicles, met new friends, and even attended a few Midwinter Events. It's incredible that we share this hobby, and I enjoy it a great deal.

Meu nome é Jonathan Slack. Sou um canadense de Winnipeg e estou aqui para concorrer para Coordenador de Finanças. Provavelmente mandei mensagem para quase todo mundo da Org no meu tempo como Coordenador Web, agradecendo os por manter os seus sites atualizados Estou saindo da posição de Coordenador Web porque estou esperando que alguém com experiência de Desenvolvimento e Programação possa assumir a posição. Sou primariamente um administrador e trabalhei duro para assegurar que meu tempo de resposta é rápido durante o meu tempo como Coordenador Web e isso não irá mudar se eu obtiver a posição de Coordenador Finanças.
Administrative Experience:
In my personal life I work as a Computer Lab Instructor. This has given me extensive experience with financial software such as Excel and Simply Accounting, given that I teach these programs on a semi-regular basis. The position of Computer Lab Instructor comes with soft skills such as patience, mutual respect, and a willingness to work with people to ensure that they understand processes. I believe this important to ensure that people can follow through instructions for payment to the Org.
OWBN experience extends from working as a Subcoordinator to the Web Team starting in 2011. This introduced me to the administrative side of the Organization. I was required to provide regular reports to the Web Coordinator and process chronicle information, adding/removing individuals to various email lists, and interacting with chronicle's storytellers and council members to update information.
My time as a subcoordinator ended in early 2014, when I stepped up to the position of Web Coordinator. I worked as Web Coordinator from 2014 to early 2016 of this year, working with the Web Development Team to tweak the site to it's current form. As I mentioned above I was very concerned to make sure response times were quick, often responding within hours of any help desk tickets or emails. I knew it was important to make sure that the members of the Org were being heard and their concerns and questions addressed. I iintend to keep doing this in a Financial capacity.

I am here to help. I've used that statement throughout my time as Web Coordinator, and it still applies for this position as Finance Coordinator. I have the administrative experience for the position, and have handled the sensitive private data of the Org through my time as Web Coordinator.
I like the Org, and I feel like this particular position is important. I hope I've proven in my time as the Web Coord that I take a volunteer position seriously and will get the job done.

Goals:
I intend to pay the bills on time for the Org's primary asset: our online web server.
I will provide an annual report of our financial health.
I will work with chronicles to ensure everyone gets their money in for the 2017 period.
