Introduction and Background:

Hello!

I’m Luke Philippi and this time I am running for Gangrel Coordinator for the 2014 term. I have been the Admissions Coordinator since January 28, 2012 and I feel the need to leap towards Clan coordination.

Below you will find a short and streamlined application for the position. I have goals, and changes to make to the Gangrel team, and how the Gangrel team does business. All of which I am going to lay out for you here.

I have been told I was the best Admissions Coordinator OWBN has had. While I don’t think that it’s going to be a high bar to jump over for my successor, I think if I put even 10% of my enthusiasm into being Gangrel Coordinator, I probably won’t suck.

Administrative Experience:

I have been a member and active player in OWBN since 2004. Since then I have had the opportunity to be an ST for over 3 + years, a Council Member for just under 3 years, and have aided in running events in Fargo, the Twin Cities, and Columbus. I have played in games from Winnipeg to NVA to Kublacon. I have been an Admissions Subcoord for about a year, and currently am the Admissions Coordinator.

Personal Statement:

Why am I running for this position? Seriously, anyone?

As a prominent Gangrel player (cam/indy/anarch side), an Administrative Coordinator, someone who’s been involved in the grassroots movement to help the Genre - I can say a lot of Gangrel things are handled IC by PC’s. It’s great. But more can be done. More needs to be done. It is my assertion that with my administrative experience, I can provide the OOC logistics to see the quality IC evolution that I feel the clan is on the cusp of undergoing, happen.

Goals:

Overview:

Here is a brief list of accomplishments from my last year.

  • Bringing a game back into France.

  • Bringing in quality games, while also ensuring those who don’t play ball aren’t in

  • Asked hard questions, and started to work to get the org to take territory more fluidly.

This year

This year plans to be a different beast. To be successful at herding cats, I meant Coordinating Gangrel, here are the actions I am looking at taking.

  • Creating and bringing to Council an updated packet that emphasizes how PC gangrel have been handling things IC for the last 5+ years

  • Empowering ST’s and Players with tools to provide IC consequences to deserving PCs, and IC rewards to the deserving PCs that dole them out.

  • Evaluating the Sub-Coordinator staff and making adjustments as necessary.

Other things I hope to be successful at doing

  • Running an amazing Gangrel Event in July

  • Working with the Genre/Sect Coordinator teams to provide opportunity for plot

  • Empowering Sub-Coordinator to help keep outstanding requests to a minimum.

And in a perfect world…

  • All requests will be handled by email.

  • Combination disciplines, and how they are handled will align with the rest of the clans

  • Things that require approval will be documented and Binding Agreements used as needed.

  • Rewarding not only good Gangrel PC’s but good VAMPIRE PC’s that are also Gangrel (yes there is a difference).

To conclude...

I feel that this is an excellent time to shift into new blood to make the clan relevant again. To develop an IC agenda, and to allow those who want to be left alone, left alone. The nomads, the wanderer’s the Noble Beasts are very fun and have a rich tradition.

I feel that if elected, I can do it the most justice.

Thank you for your consideration,

Luke Philippi
