Background:

I've been LARPing since 1986, when a soft-combat boffer group called "The
Realms" began. I played in The Realms until 1998, and STed a tabletop Vampire
game during that time as well.

I first played Vampire LARP when the "Masquerade Player's Kit" boxed set was
released by Mind's Eye Theater in 1994. I played in the first games in the
Northeast at UMass, WPI, and Ground Zero, helping to playtest revisions to the
kit and eventually Laws of the Night. I was active in the Vampire (and
Werewolf) LARP circle until the late 90's when I took a hiatus to enlist in the
U.S. Army.

I continued playing tabletop games until 2002, when I rejoined the OWbN
community. Two years ago, I became the AHST and Giovanni ST of Boston by Night,
a.k.a "The Midnight Ride". In that time, we have nearly doubled our player
base, integrated interaction with Wraiths, and helped to throw the annual
Northeast Event each November.

The Midnight Ride is a Giovanni game with a seperate Sabbat night which we also
run under the same name. The Giovanni genre is near and dear to my heart, as it
has been my sole focus for the past few years. My gaming schedule is largely
clear at this point, as I am not currently running any OWbN PC's.

In the Army, I was an Intelligence Analyst. In the real world, I teach Junior
High Special Education. I have excellent organizational and communication
skills, and look forward to being able to serve the Giovanni within our Org.

Personal Statement:

The Giovanni genre is a difficult one to run, given the small number of players
and the large distance between most of them. It's rare to find a solely
Giovanni chronicle, and this leaves single Gio's trying to do business in a Cam
world.
There needs to be a better way.
At the very least, we need to make these characters feel more like the members
of an extended Famiglia that they are. They are part of a heirarchy, not a lone
wolf off trying to fend for itself without the security that the Family brings.
I welcome players who wish to interact with the Camarilla, for this is part and
parcel of the genre. However, they need to have goals that benefit the Family,
and they can't know what those goals are without COMMUNICATION. EVERY player
needs to be in the loop, and I mean to make this possible by being as accessible
as possible.

The Necromancy packet needs to be solidified and made consistent. The most
difficult part about playing a Necromancer is the constant flux in abilities and
rituals every time the packet is changed. I see no need to completely overhaul
the Necro packet, because this will only exacerbate the issue. We need to take
it as is, and make it work. If this means trimming off some of the fat, so be
it. But, we certainly don't need to make drastic changes, nor add any more to it.

I would very much like to see the Giovanni Genre get back to basics within the
Org. Know the chain of command, and adhere to it. Network, network, network.
Set goals, attain them, and be rewarded by the Family for them. This is the
basis of Clan Giovanni, and as Coordinator, I mean to reestablish it.
