[PROPOSAL][Amendment] Change to Character Bylaw 3.C

I, Samantha Swanson, CM of Chicago Dark Requiem, hereby propose the following change to Character Bylaw 3.C:

3. Experience Points

   1. After the character has entered play, the home chronicle can award a character up to a maximum of eight (8) experience points in a single calendar month

      1. All characters, except Wraith characters, may receive more experience points per month depending on the total point value of the character as presented below:

         1. 0-200XP: twelve (12) experience points in a single calendar month

         2. 201-400XP: ten (10) experience points in a single calendar month

         3. 401+: eight (8) experience points in a single calendar month

      2. A character’s Experience Cap is determined by their total experience points as of the First Day of the month.

Additionally, all PCs that benefited from this oversight in word choice must be stripped of the XP as well as all purchases made with that XP.

Reasoning:

Based on the current wording of the bylaw, it is valid for a chronicle to award base 8 and then ADDITIONALLY award 12/10/8 based on the xp total of the character in question. This is because in the initial wording we first delineated that all PCs can receive a maximum of 8 XP in a single calendar month then followed it in i. with “may receive more experience per month”. As written any chronicle that has awarded 20/18/16/8 is technically not incorrect because of the word choices used in the bylaw. This amendment seeks to clarify the intent of the bylaw so that it is very cleanly stated that the caps are 12/10/8 based on XP of the Character.
