2014 - Head Coord - Robert Crosby
Introduction and Background:
Greetings and salutations to anyone reading this application again this year. My name is Robert Crosby and I am the current Head Coordinator of One World by Night. I am submitting this application, as I intend on running again and continuing to serve this organization for whom I have a great respect. This will most likely be my last year seeking the position, as both of the Assistant Head Coordinators are not seeking re-election and I prefer a smooth transition.
I like to consider myself level-headed and fair in the execution of all duties, real or hobby and am highly proficient at multi-tasking. I also have immeasurable experience with state and federal bureaucracies. However, from the amount of time put into this hobby daily by all of the players and staffs in OWbN, I regard it as a very important task and one that I will perform to the best of my ability.

Administrative Experience:
On the local level, I have been active in OWbN, as was mentioned earlier, for more than a decade and have been a Storyteller and Council Member for two OWbN games as well as assist three games with entering the organization. Conflict resolution, plot development, hot-heads and cool-heads…I have seen it all and yet I remain.
On a global level, I have traveled throughout the Midwest of the United States and have made appearances on both the East and West Coasts throughout the years, not just playing, but developing a rewarding set of friendships that continue to this day. Most other games, Coordinators, and Storytellers I have dealt with through the years have worked well with me to provide the highest level of game available.
I have also served as the Assistant Head Coordinator prior to serving as Head Coordinator, as I have done now for three terms. In that time, I have assisted chronicles and fellow coordinators with crafting proposals, interpreting by-laws for chronicles and coordinators, mediating disputes for chronicles, players and coordinators, posting votes, and assisting in steering discussion of pertinent topics for One World by Night. In all of this I have endeavored to seek the type of civility and transparency in all things that I would like to see throughout the organization that holds a special place in my heart. even after all of these years.
As Head Coordinator, I have had to confront and deal with a myriad of problems involving all kinds of incidents legal, civil, organizational, and personal. Some require a great deal of discretion and some involve a great deal of transparency., but all of them deserve both attention and care. In meditations , it is essential to maintain the trust of all parties and , in some instances in conflict resolutions of this type and similar, it is important to ensure trust.
Sometimes people don’t want their dirty laundry aired in public, if it can be resolved in private. When mistakes are made and are not of a grievous or intentional nature, their disclosure would only serve to alienate an individual or chronicle when they might otherwise seek assistance and to be treated with respect.

Personal Statement:
As Head Coordinator and Storyteller who cares deeply for so many in this organization and for the friendships and memories this org has generated, I feel I should obligate myself to trying to help with solutions. In all honesty , I lack ALL of the answers, but I am not afraid of the challenge of working with all of you towards building a better One World by Night.
I will seek to do so with a calm head, a quiet heart, and the civility and respect that everyone involved in this organization deserves. If I stumble...I only ask that I not be put to the torch.
This coming year will be rife with troubles and I would like to try and be the cooler head in the discussion, as we address the By Night material. I know it will be extremely divisive.
My personal opinion is that we should not convert to the new system. Currently there are two other organizations that use the system, our shift would leave us just as the others.
Story: The story in BNS does not mesh with ours, which is one of our defining factors in our on-going history and metamorphosis into what we are today and what we will become.
Mechanics: Some of the mechanics I like and others I do not and while some could certainly be incorporated into house rules used by chronicles, they do not mesh within our current player base.
Community: I bear no ill towards MES or UT and if there are those who wish to play in that format, I encourage them wholeheartedly. I may even join or rejoin on myself. If this ends up moving some folks over to another organization, then that is their choice and they are, in no way, regarded as excommunicated heretics. This merely gives the players and STs more options and that is good for all.

Minha opinião pessoal é que não se deve converter para o novo sistema. Atualmente, existem duas outras organizações que utilizam o sistema , a nossa mudança nos deixaria , assim como os outros.
História: A história em BNS não combina com a nossa, que é um dos nossos factores decisivos na nossa história em curso e metamorfose em que somos hoje eo que seremos .

Goals:
I would like to continue to see a more cohesive and cogent Executive Team that functions as a team for the benefit of all. We may not agree on everything, as is par for the course, but we can still strive to come to a consensus for the good of One World by Night.. The past three terms have been wonderful with the assembled Executive team and I look forward to continuing along these lines, in the hopes of passing the reigns to a new Head Coordinator next term (if elected this term).
I have made it a policy to attempt to speak with all Coordinators, STs, CMs, and players in al ll things, but it is a Herculean task that requires a lot of teamwork from Exec. I would like to see this sense of teamwork continue to grow and bloom into something more visible within One World by Night.
There are several other issues I would like to see addressed, but will do so mainly from behind the scenes, as a Head Coordinator should. When I do speak I should do so by stating clearly when called upon and ensuring that the literal and spiritual essence of One World by Night is preserved. The issues include, but are not limited to:
1) Continuing to ensure the ability of appointed Coordinators to perform their duties.
2) Ensuring transparency and civility with One World by Night.
3) A restructuring of the By-Laws into something coherent and easy to apply. This includes a more defined role for the Coordinators, especially the Sect Coordinators. Jeff and I will be going at it with chainsaws and flamethrowers this year.
4) A greater and more purposeful interaction with White Wolf/Onyx Path/By Night Publishing that, while keeping the spirit of One World by Night alive and its direction on course, seeks out new avenues of positive discussion and long-term constructive development.

Eu gostaria de continuar a ver uma Equipe Executiva mais coeso e convincente que funciona como uma equipe para o benefício de todos.
