Custom Merit
Some chronicles allow for their players to develop customized powers for their characters. The following is a compilation of player created custom content in OWBN. At this time, custom content that is created and/or used by vampire PC's is required to be listed.
Requirements: Demon Coord Approval, Baali/Angellis Ater/Apostate worshipping Namtaru, Disease Carrier 3, Plague Breeding x4, Mentor: (A Decani) x5
You hold the interest of one of the 36 Decani, the demons of plague which are facts of the slumbering Namtaru. So long as you maintain their favor, you may call upon them to manifest in your soul, aiding your efforts.
System: Once per Night you may choose one of the following effects to your Daimonion challenges, as well as any challenges which target or involve your nature as a Baali or Servant of Namtaru -
- You gain Bomb & Ties for a number of rounds equal to your Plague Breeding.
- You gain a Free Retest on every challenge for a number of rounds equal to your Plague Breeding.
- You automatically succeed at your next challenge, as per Blood Mastery. If this is an opposed challenge, the target may still retest.
- You double all effects of the next power, as per Vires Acquirit Eundo.
- You may ignore all anti-demonic or anti-infernal powers (E.g. Blessed, Vincente de las Navas de Tolosa's Holy Shield, Ex Inferis, Rego Manes, etc.) for a number of actions equal to your Plague Breeding.
However, because your demonic patron has aided your efforts, for the next scene or hour you suffer from the Flaw: Beacon of the Unholy.
Requires - Totemic Change and Ghost Song
Effect: When the Gangrel melds into the ground and takes up the song of a dead gangrel they gain one form (fight or flight) that gangrel had as one of their own.
The Downside: The Gangrel can no longer gain animal forms normally through totemic change.
**Any restricted or rare forms would still require gangrel coord approval to acquire.
This devoted follower of the spirit of Freyja has been blessed to represent a living valkyrie: the warrior women within Freyja's Legion. By that, she has gained the ability to manifest 2 large white-feathered wings from her back; which can appear and disappear at will. They are the size of her body height when closed, with an appropriately large wingspan in accordance to her weight.
She can fly up to speeds of 20mph (double over-land speed if in combat) prior to Celerity activations, and perform aerial maneuvers with her Athletics. She can carry objects that her levels of Potence allows her to carry, at no penalty to flight pattern.
Should this follower fall away from Freyja, or disgrace her, her teachings, or her values; this merit will be removed with no option to purchase it back in the future. This is truly a once in a lifetime gift.

Innate magical Ability (5 Trait Meirt)
Life's Resurgence -
By the expenditure of a single blood trait he can touch a mortal and take away any toxins they may have in them. Additionally if he Spends 2 blood and a willpower he can take away much more than just a toxin. He can literally heal a mortal and only a mortal of their wounds. This also works on the dead. He cannot revive the already dead. He could save some one from a fatal wound. The body returns to its uninjured state showing no wounds at all.The healing and wound removal from mortals has a major drawback if it is a toxin he takes it on himself feeling the effects of the toxin. If they are wounds he takes on the damage inflicted on the mortal body the damage can be lethal or bashing aggravated wounds convert to lethal in the transfer. Blood can be spent to heal or burn off toxins.
If the power is used for wounds of living any kind his obfuscate no longer hides him until he has healed the wounds. When this occurs, his purple Fae eyes glow even brighter as if making him a beacon to be seen accenting his presence in the area. He even gives off a purplish haze as if part of the dreaming is trying to show thru.

Within this "palace,'' different parts of the building are assigned to different subjects and symbols are placed within to recall items or facts. This technique is still utilized in the modern world and is more commonly known as eidetic memory.
Scholars of all kinds have employed this technique for ages. Through a great deal of hard mental work, requiring a keen mind and hours of research into the proper meditation this technique has been expounded. By utilizing the concepts of a "memory palace" individuals with this Merit have developed a way to utilize the symbols and devices within their "memory palace" to direct the flow of their magic through those dedicated symbols and devices outward into the external world. The basis for this understanding initially came from understanding Hermetic Thaumaturgy but it can be expanded into other paradigms if the individual has access to them.
System:
Purchasing this background allows the individual to remove all verbal, somatic or material components for one Path of Thaumaturgy, this Path has to be selected when this Merit is initially purchased and has to be a Hermetic Path. In order to imprint each level of the path into their "memory palace" the individual must meditate for one hour/per level they are trying to imprint. After the meditation they are required to succeed in a static Mental Challenge (Hermetic Path: 10 for Basic, 12 for Intermediate, 14 for Advanced / Non-Hermetic Path: 12 for Basic, 14 for Intermediate, 16 for Advanced), retest Meditation. One success is required for Basic, two successes are required for Intermediate, three successes are required for Advanced. Failing even one of the challenges requires the individual to start the meditation process over again the next night for that level. Until each level is mastered and imprinted you can not use any of the levels of the Path through your "memory palace" and must continue to use the verbal, somatic or material components.
For every additional one point spent on this Merit, you can expand your training to include another Path of Thaumaturgy. Using the same methodology listed above.

This merit takes away the vampire's natural aura. When someone attempts to use Auspex: Aura Perception on the vampire, even if they're successful, the aura will not be able to be read. It will be as if the vampire has no aura at all. The only things that would show up on an aura read (if the person using Aura Perception checks) would be things like (but not limited to) the Assamite Warrior clan flaw of always having diablerie veins in their auras.
This devoted follower of the spirit of Odin has been blessed with Odin's ability to perceive the future. This merit acts as a free retest for any lore chops that the blessed follower may engage in.
In addition, these merit serves as a final retest for any 3 botched/failed challenges. All 3 retests from this merit may be stacked into 1 challenge.
Once these 3 retests are used, they will only reset the next evening; though the lore retest will always remain so long as the follower has this merit.
Should this follower fall away from Odin, or disgrace him, his teachings, or his values; this merit will be removed with no option to purchase it back in the future. This is truly a once in a lifetime gift.
