Tampa: Under Night's Cloak proposes a change to the preamble section of each of the OWbN Bylaws.

BACKGROUND

The current preamble to each of the OWbN Bylaws reads as follows:

One World by Night (OWbN) is a network of international Live Action Role Play (LARP) chronicles. These chronicles are brought together for the purpose of sharing a broad and colorful story that extends past each city's borders. We believe in the sovereignty of each chronicle, so far as it does not impugn upon the cohesiveness of the organization as a whole. We further believe that treating each chronicle, and by extension each player, with respect is the bedrock upon which sound cooperative Storytelling takes place.

PROPOSAL

Tampa proposes changing this preamble to reflect the current state of the organization, which is, one where playing by email is widely accepted and a "normal" part of the game.

Changes are as follows (in RED):

The fact that we need to come up with rules that govern email/online play is a completely separate issue that needs to be dealt with. Playing by email/online is widely accepted and pervasive throughout our community. We should be up-front about it, accept it, and clearly communicate this fact to anyone thinking of playing in or joining the organization. That's why it is going into the preamble, and not into any specific Bylaw.

AHC 1	Against	While email scenes are fine, this should not be the norm, ever, and should be used to enhance the live game environment. It's enough work running a LARP without putting mandatory expectations or make chronicles feel obligated to host a greater online presence. I strongly believe, in OWBN, there is no use or need for an "Online Chronicle".
AHC 2	Against	I believe the system we currently have can address those who may not be able to physically attend game. We are a live action organization.
